Cant help it. In case u r wondering why i am always reporting on bug. Its because i am a alpha/beta gamer tester. Haha. Last active game was UFOAI or otherwise known as UFO: Alien Invasion, an opensource project in sourceforge.
Okie, sidetracked.
Bug: Display of "splash" damage inaccurate.
How to I recreate the bug? Simple. I have recreated this at least 5 times.... *yeah, i am tat unfortunate to get it > 5 times*
Attempt mission: Shield Strength Test. Does not matter how much energy u have, just make sure u have min 25.
However, bring your shield down to < 25 (i.e. 1 to even 24)
Ensure your hull is valid (i have < 24 shields always for this test at least 3 times, and hull at 80 which is full).
Attempt mission until u get critical failure.... (25 damage to shields). You will realised the script noticed your shields = less than 25, hence, will kill all your shield and move the remaining damage (looks like not 1 but slightly more) to the hull.
However, the splash will be 25 blue, then 25 red. My 3 experiments show:
21/79 shields + 80/80hull become -> 0/79 shields + 70/80 hull
24/79 shields + 80/80 hull become -> 0/79 shields + 76/80 hull
24/79 shields + 80/80 hull become -> 0/79 shields + 76/80 hull (confirmed test)
These 3 above are for CRITICAL FAIL.
I have also noticed the splash damage for this for norm is also incorrectly displayed as 4 blue splash + 4 red splash.
I.e. -> If i have say 2/79 shields + 80/80 hull, then do norm mission and no crit failure, i still get 4 splash (blue) followed by 4 splash (red), though my end result = 0/79 shield + 78/80 hull.
This further led me to think if critical failure's script for transferring remaining damage to hull after absorption by shields is erroneous?
