When the datanode has been fully upgraded, you will recieve 4% defence bonus, not currently present in the galaxy legion wiki. I just wanted to say that.

The errors I found here are not deeply measured. The only deep measure I made was from the Interface Jack, where the Repair cost allowed me to determine the exact upkeep. At any other device, I haven't tested that, as they were not broken and I don't want to break them myself just to measure this.

Which might mean that the wiki is, to a rough estimate, 3/31*100%=9,7% correct on every page and the information on the pages where the errors excist, all have to do with money. To my opinion, an extremely important aspect. Some numbers didn't even come near the actual number. This is only what I have currently installed. Please update the wiki everywhere, on every page. I am eager to do this as well, but I do not have the permission to edit this information I have for you.

Sorry for the long post, it took me around 2 hours to measure all this. I hope that this information will consider administrators to make the wiki more open for editing.

The wiki was clamped down, security wise, due to a large number of spam-bots spamming the wiki, and making it all spammy.

There's no precedent for requiring screenshots on the wiki.

I call BS on this. There are easy ways to block spambots from a wiki (for example, CAPTCHA). Look that up on Wikipedia (a real Wiki, on which spam does not appear to be a problem...). A few players derive pleasure out of a sense of being among the elite who are "in control" of the Wiki - just under the guise of "to prevent spam". Since Dan is largely hands-off, these players are free to continue their exercise.

Well that's your take on it, but that's the reason behind it.

Read the article, they most likely use something such as the honey-pot method. Dan is running an old version of MediaWiki. It probably has no anti-spam measures.

I also don't understand your issue with people being in charge. It's just a wiki, and it offers no gain whatsoever. The people picked have passion for maintaining the wiki.

spam doesn't 'appear' to be a problem on Wikipedia because they have 385 volunteers specifically dealing with it:

the requirement for admin intervention before the creation of new wiki accounts was a LAST resort, when Dan appointed a couple of us as additional wiki admins in November 2012, there were over 6000 wiki pages ... over 5000 of which were spam. keyword blocking and manually blocking individual user/IPs failed miserably to keep up with spam.bots.

since February 2013, when DAN made the change to require user verification for new wiki account creations (chosen from among the options that i forwarded to him, including CAPTCHAs), no new spam pages / user accounts have been created.

as long as the wiki is working as intended ... providing information about the game and its players ... then if the only time anyone notices a wikiadmin is when they sign up for an account, then that suits me just fine. all the spam pages have been deleted (MANUALLY !) and NO ONE has raised any issues with me in the last 8 months about any of the actions that i have taken on the wiki. i have NO idea where you get the 'elite' status idea ... the .sig reference is merely for those who can't manage to find the pinned topic in the issues and support forum.

OK, look. If you need someone to explain to you how to prevent so-called "spam" on a wiki (and how to embed images - another skill that appears to elude our Wiki admins), let me know and I'd be glad to help. Otherwise, enjoy your little pet project.

those settings are only currently available to the Wiki Bureaucrat ... which is only Dan.

me, i'd rather he deal with game coding than fiddling with wiki settings.

as for needing someone to 'explain', in my 30+ years of computer experience, anyone who needs to tout their expertise, usually is not an expert that i feel any need to consult.

As for embedding images, Dan said no to this. It was also Dan's decision to make people admins, so if you don't like it, then tough.
