Am I doing good (now/still)?

At rank 15 it's too early to tell, just keep your productions up, avoid planets smaller than large unless they have spectacular production, join a good training legion, and proceed from there

your doing decent....get an arti base....

nice hull. trap your ship up so you dont get disabled. krio, omicron. you could tbh take advantage of lower lvs and zero people without much retal.

no offense but is this really necessary? rank 15 is what? like 2 maybe 3 hours of play if you dont buy energy refills?

I'm a rank 32 Slow ranker so i can most definitely help you out on this.
If you going for a PvP ship, start your RAIDS Early. 1 kill, 1 raid. Get your Proteons Early.
If you're thinking about slow ranking, go into an Artifact legion and you will get tons of Ship bots which you can Store up just in case for new modules.
Rescued Prisoners will give you 3 rank points each. I suggest investing the points in Tactical Officers (TO's).
Make short and Long term goals, EG: "By rank 20, i should have 200 Tactical Officers".
PRODUCTION
If you are planning on having very few Modules and low deck space you should go with having All Artifact Planets to boost your ship even Further without having to worry about your credits as you will have low Deck space and few/no modules on your ship.

I recommend you head over to the "Anomaly" legion, around 35k research points and 8k artifact per day, stay in there for a while, get ahead of your level in research then swap over to an artifact base, namalak if possible, if not then pick another, sith lords or terranian armada maybe?

dont bother with small ship build until you're rank 100 or so, add your decks now so you can make use of them, below those ranks you dont gain enough advantage from it

Actually you're wrong.
I'm a rank 32 slow ranker and being a SSB has a big advantage even at my rank, that is if you're wanting to be a PvP ship.

I went down that road when I started, it ended with an underpowered ship, and minimal productions. before rank 100 and farther, there isn't much separating you from the pack

It actually took me 6 days.

If u dont auto rank by utting rank points into enineers it does take around 6 days. Nice ship, but i suggest a research legion to get sield and lanetary structures up. Maye some en for the relays. A ssb doesnt use reactors.
