I've seen a few of these so far, so I'm going to post my ship stats, etc, and hear what you guys think on how I could improve. My attack and defense change a lot, so don't take them as a minimum. I can increase them a lot by changing stuff around.

Arti way up.
Get more than 50 scan.
Are you installing cores before ranking?
Get your npc mods.
Drop shields
Get mark III dom cannons
I assume you are taking no res planets? Other than 1vm gas a month. and that only if you've already maxed out the ones you already own.
You don't really need mining. Should only be taking vl toxics when you have spare purifiers you can't use on planets you already own.

Arti will be no problem. NPC mods come with time, and being in CRA, that should be pretty fast. Shields were installed today, just to get them out my cargo. Mark III's will be a bit of a problem, but possible. I'm taking Research planets, but only great ones. I recently stole one with a Stealth Screen, which I plasma and sell. Mining is there for a good reason.

As for scan... I have few decks. I boost it up to 700 while NPC'ing, but that's about it atm.

Double attack, double defense, energy...well, I'd suggest 3x more but 2x would be enough. No shields, get your bio-metric sealers and your silthion exo-platings.

Drop the lazuli mind controllers and install them only when invading

His artifact isn't actually low, though perhaps low in comparison to his other productions and were low when he posted the orignal post. His ship stats are/were pretty lacking, though he has good relays. No cores though, which is interesting.

yeah isnt too low, but i was comparing to my production :)
almost twice than my mining, my arti twice higher, and just a lil bit high on my research

My decks count is only 1160. I don't have space for non-combat modules, so I swap stuff out when needed.

replace with- 3 more heavy null rays. and get the 2 Energy Nullifier - Mark IIIs.

As much as I dislike Dreadlost's style of advice giving, he's right. But he hasn't really said why.

As I'm sure you're aware, shield modules are of low efficiency. Many people do not install them until later on, if at all. They provide very low health:decks and the regen really isn't worth it. This will free up 50 decks on your ship which can be filled with something useful.

Flawed advice, as you won't be able to fit these. 157 decks will allow you to install some nice new stuff though, eh? Add to that your current 27 open decks, for 184 decks you can get a pretty nice stat bump. I'd go with an energy nullifier (78 decks) and 2 Null Rays (94 decks) for 172 of those 84. Use the other modules as a placeholder only. You should get around 500 attack and 100 defense out of the changes.

what you are forgetting...is your whole post was based off my simple 2 small sentences of advice. xD I think it's a given he knows they are less efficient. I was giving advice. not explaining why I put it's just common sense I merely highlighted.

I said install the 3 nulls and other 2 defence mods, as a loner term objective. not based off how many decks you would lose.

you know my posts, just simple to the point advice. others just expand on it.
