Wow, 9 pages of headache.
I hadn't actually heard of the 5x or 6x badges till this post, but my work schedule lately has me missing a lot of bases. I've seen 4x badges from the base very rarely, 3x badges occasionally, and 2x badges more common from the base. I have seen my ship disabled twice at the same time by PA, 3 and 4 times back to back by Soozer and her bad Badgers. Do I cry foul when it happens?? Nope, I man up and fight back. Even Nazwreck and myself have teamed up on a Kav of GD a few times and apparently we both scored the killing blow on him repeatedly. Did we hack the system and tinker with coding to do that?? Not in the slightest ("insert favorite f word here" no, I hate and cant stand programming!!) We communicated away from the FB and GL servers and commenced our all out assault to see who actually could land the killing blow. This is the same with bases. But around page 4 or 5, someone said that the higher badge multipliers have occurred since Dan did all the 'stacking' with the logs and effects. Do you think this and something in that coding could explain this? OR is it now that there are now 4 highly active legions attacking the bases that this effect can and does happen?

I think people who are saying there is no fix to this (and I'm not on any side of the fence here for clarification) didn't read Uy's suggestion, of only rewarding badges when the timer expires, not a hard fix and everyone gets their reward the same.

Supposedly this whole book is really about EotS and multiple NPC drops. It's not really about the silvers. <cough Anna cough> Do you really expect a legion to wait until timers expire on all the dead elites/bosses to get their stuff? You could have 2 dozen energy sacs waiting for the timer when you need 300 energy to rank up so you can keep playing.

Maybe if there was a delay on the reward drop, a matter of seconds could be enough for the server to realize only one disable should have occured

Well I have read the whole thread, and I understand it turned sour, I was more trying to get away from that and move to actually fixing the problem.

SA's base was locked by your battle group twice in quick succession resulting in multiple badges/ disables both times...the last time we were locked, after this thread was made (lol) we lasted 31 minutes instead of 2...and only accrued the one disable. you really wonder why we are suspicious? without spelling it out we all know there is (was) a way of maximising results...we wondered if this was still going on. i told you last time your legion wasnt being accused of anything...now you know why...now, the thread was made and the rate of multi-disables has tailed off. draw your own conclusions...i know we have

Another "single case establishes the new trend" post. You and many others in this thread have shown a nearly complete failure to understand even the most basic concepts in probability. I wish everyone involved would increase their standards of intellectual inquiry and deduction. 328mark wrote: draw your own conclusions...i know we have And you know what they say about conclusions?

You could have 2 dozen energy sacs waiting for the timer when you need 300 energy to rank up so you can keep playing. elites need to be removed from BT so that won't work the same, and frankly it doesn't matter as much (and doesn't get as high on the multiplier due to smaller # of participant). And no one is particularly concerned about elites multiple drops. Doesn't have to fix everything in one go. Fix base multi would be sufficient for the moment Billik wrote: Darth Flagitious wrote: Epicownage wrote: I think people who are saying there is no fix to this (and I'm not on any side of the fence here for clarification) didn't read Uy's suggestion, of only rewarding badges when the timer expires, not a hard fix and everyone gets their reward the same. Maybe if there was a delay on the reward drop, a matter of seconds could be enough for the server to realize only one disable should have occured I was considering a delay timer system too, then I realized that in coding that probably have to mess with queue as we are not just having one base battle nor disable going on in the game within the however small time frame (it have to be sufficiently large to avoid the current problem, 2-3 seconds perhaps). I'm not entirely sure just how much coding that would take nor how much system resource would be consumed if the existing queue have to be checked frequently for repeats. While I assume that it would be on the managable side, I prefer to be safe So I went with the easy solution of on-expiration to fix the base problem first. If the delay timer one really can work out, we can have that for the NPCs.

I missed an exciting weekend it seems. Oh hey look at this old post of mine viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28957Where was everyone when we (EotS) threw the flag up on that glitch!!! Im just a little hurt that everyone flocked to Myth's post and not mine. Next time I will throw Triumvirate in the Subject tag to get more attention

Just want to piont out that even though it sucks for us EOTS disabled our base when no one was on in two minutes and there were no dubs.

Since the downtime from server maintenance haven't seen any doubles trips or anything, best guess on the issue of the increased rates would be the new stacking of alerts that Dan recently put in, processing and stacking thousands of alerts would strain the system so rectifying that could of solved the issue, we may still get them every now and again but i think the stupid 4-6x should become a lot less frequent.

So any retractions of claims of cheating? I am waiting.
No one was banned that I am aware of. Not a single EotS member was using anything against ToS (such as autoclickers) as we hit bases and elites. It clearly was a coding issue, that dan was aware of and didn't resolve because it added to the fun of the game for players (as evidenced by the stacking numbers being implemented). But it caused such a stir, he "fixed" the problem.
So everyone is fine now, except those who awful claims were made against. Libel and slander are as bad or worse than cheating. Lets keep that in mind, next time.

Nothing was really changed, give it a couple months when the server starts to lag out again and someone will more than likely necro

When you have strong hard players, you have quick disables and fast kills. We didn't take 2 years to get in the top 3.. Strong Attack Strong Defense = Quick Kills and fewer repairs.

Wow.. a whole lot of assumptions there. IF there was someone cheating (as I stated before) they could have easily stopped, and no.. unless you were one of them you still would not know they had been.. you would have just been reaping rewards. However, as I stated numerous times over these pages, not once did I accuse anyone or any legion of cheating, simply stated it was possible, very, that someone was, but that the fact was there, blatantly that something was very wrong giving an unfair advantage, that now yes.. on the outside appears to have been fixed thankfully.
