How can I encourage my legion members to rank up faster? Besides being able to share npc's at the higher levels are there any other incentives for fast leveling I dont know about? There seems to be more incentive to stay behind, you can get significantly stronger to slower you go, viz a vie research and arti production. So why do we want our members to level fast? Thats what I'm tring to find out!

Um, dude, let them do what they want. Give them some tips here and there sure but don't make them do anything.

I generally concur with Short that you shouldn't try and control your players' playing styles. That said, if you really want them to level give them goals to meet that have a prize and will earn them xp. For example, I offer anyone in my legion who gets and dons the Annihilator medal/title 500 ku. 1k disable will most certainly earn them a decent chunk of xp. It will also earn them enough reds to get their Mark III's with enough left over for scanning bases. Your legion will not only benefit from stronger ships but when everyone has the Annihilator status that will make your legion even more intimidating. All at the expense of some ku. For me 500 ku is fairly cheap. Not something I would cry a river over. For them it helps them meet their upkeeps and upgrade their researched modules...
All while getting them to level up via the xp they receive from it.
Now I'm not saying you have to do anything similar. But find something that loosely accomplishes your goals and then find a shiny they want. Make a compact and then stick by it.

personally i run contsests in the legion, it has to be one that anyone can do though not something only a few are capable of. They should also be contests that will in general help everyone in the legion.
example: first person to lock a level 5+ base that we disable wins ________.
**I use level 5+ because we ourselves just hit level 5**

i just did that yesterday, lock a lvl5 base, and we disabled it too, what do i win? lol and 500 ku for annihalator? they will laugh when they can get 50 aiddys if they ask the right person, and the other idea, dont do anything. That seems to always be the best first move in this game, but eventually you have to take some sort of action.

Had you been in the legion 2nd place prize was 1 months worth of shield restorers and ancient crystal focci, what can a low rank do with that, not a bunch but considering someone in our legion loves trading 56 shield restorers and 100 ancient crystal focci can go along way in either CTP or Ku for someone around rank 70 - 120.

huh found your legion out of pure chance. Tell Sandman sorry about the disable and raid. lol
Now I'm sorry to say but I don't know why you of all players in your legion are making this post. You yourself are only rank 113. How ever your legion stats description says that only players 100 or above should apply and yet only 11 out of your 47 members are there. So maybe you should let them know that if they are not rank 100 by the end of the month they will be kicked. Or at least close to rank 100. Also maybe let them know that no matter how long they stay at rank 100 collecting arti's and "Growing their ship slow ranking" they will never gain enough to make it worth while. Not with <1000 arti production. Heck if you don't get at least 5K arti production I don't think it is worth while for anyone to slow rank. You will not gain enough over time to ever make your ship more powerful. Those who speed rank will be getting 10X or more then you at that point and you will not be able to catch them.

Assuming that you are a reasonably high rank player, not one of the average rank 20 startup legons, you have two options:
OPTION 1. Did they sign a contract, then they joined? If not, go to option two, if so: Tell them to rank up, or you'll punish them according to their contracts.
OPTION 2. Offer them something large and expensive looking.

i say let them do their own thing mostly and give out some advice here and there. if you want to give them a little extra motivation just hold contests.

Contests are definitely the key. We are currently doing a 15x MR planet reward for the member that donates the most to the base funds for this month. Talk about an influx of funds coming in to support our upkeep.

Buy some neurals on a trade group and hand them out to people who are online more than others.

Competitions FTW. To get so many players in Ni off of Builder and Miner, we ha a mining competition: randomised teams of 2, highest collective increase wins. Rewards: a 16x VL Toxic, and a free Planet Flux. While I don't think you'd be able to offer the same thing, but it's still a sound strategy to improving the players in our legion.
