For me atleast removing modules for specializing my ship at times is becoming highly tedious. To the point in which id like to be able to have at the very least 1 module set.
A Module Set being, a preset, customizable, module configuration that one can revert to completely simultaneously. AKA you have a config for fighting, and one for scanning, instead of having to go through all your module pages and un/re-equip modules to switch in-between them, you can do all of them at the same time.
This or atleast make the modules pages scrollable instead of 4/page.

Sounds nice, I agree with this. In addition we could do a quest chain to open more "sets" ehh don't like that as a term maybe "layouts?" Start with two or three add more after a quest up to 5 or six. I know hunting NPC's vs hunting PC's I use different layouts and obviously scanning plus I'm sure more would come up.

would be nice. i use like 3 diff configurations, or a combination of them. i often switch them if im fighting so it would be very nice to have a save and restore feature.
Captain: activate all weapons, and maximize defenses! we are going in HOT into battle.
Tactical Officer: yes sir... <clicks a nearby easy button and goes back to lounging>
Captain: Great Job!!! target destroyed, now prepare for a massive counter attack! max cloak and scanners to hide and detect foes!
Tactical Officer: yes sir... <clicks a nearby easy button and goes back to lounging>
Captain: looks like we lost them. phew!

You forgot the rest...
Tactical Officer: You forgot sir, we are on their ships log... no amount of cloak could save us now!!!
This is truly one thing I do not get, if I have enough cloak to not be scanned by them... I should be able to make a clean getaway 50-75% of the time. As it is, I am always caught. /shrug

Yeah, i'd definitely like a module set. I'd personally then use it to ensure I had my best energy modules installed and had all my relays deactivated to make the most of levelling when the time comes.

I completely agree with the OP.
Also: The proper term for these sets of ship items would be "Kits";
IE. You are talking about making a "Kit" when you say there is a standard way to "Fit" (aka OutFit) your Ship. EG. "He was Kitted up to do heavy Scanning with almost no cloak so I changed to my Hacking Kit and pwned him." (to use the parlance of our times)
(Although if you prefer you could call them "Fits", or "Outfits" as they are the more generic term.)

As an added suggestion, there could be modules that grant additional bonuses when they are included in the same set. This may be a bit bland however, as many fantacy MMOs have equipment set bonuses.

I am speaking of modules that grant bonuses WHEN they are in the same set, not that the modules themselves grant synergy.

You are saying there should be special sets of modules implemented in the game that when you have all of them give an addditional bonus forr having the full set. This has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand. The OP is suggesting that you be able to create "Kits" of your favorite modules so that you can change them easily without having to uninstall and re-install one at a time. It's actually something I have suggested before myself. Please suggest your Idea as a separate topic. ~Q

Again, you did not get what I said. I mean the modules would grant extra bonuses when they are put into a kit.

We ONLY want that mechanic to be in game. we aren't suggesting an enhancement to the way the modules work. See? it is two separate concepts. =) ~Q

vladd, you should consider getting more storage. I had that problem too, as artifacts increase in your hold, its gets harder and harder to take things offline. "Offline" is a misleading term. It should be "uninstalled" but meh, neither here nor there.
As for the rest of you, this is a forum for sharing ideas. Let's stay on topic: agreed. Let's not argue about staying on topic: agreed. Let's drop the term "kit" forever and leave GL to be its own game, not something to mimic some other MMO out there: AGREED.
I like "Preset" or "Configuration" myself. Maybe "Template." ??? Better yet, if they implement it, maybe they'll let you NAME it yourself! "Max energy state" "Hacker" "PVP" "Turtle"
As for bonuses, since the suggestion of bonuses is in regards to the "CUSTOMIZED SETUPS" I don't see it being entirely off topic. Arguing that it's off topic is more off topic than it being off topic. Or am I off topic now?

Lol, glad you're good at agreeing with yourself. lolol. Hate to see what'ed happen if you replied DISAGREED!! XD However "Kit" is not a term from an MMO, I don't even see how you could make that mistake, considering how ubiquitous the term is in our lives. Haven't you ever used a first aid Kit? If you were a Boyscout or even a cub scout you'd refer to the manual as to what kits might be useful to handle particular tasks. The term is a general term that has been around for hundreds of years, and is most commonly refering to a soldiar's gear whihc may differe for different assignment, and therefor is already perfect because we're playing a form of war sim/strategy game here, but even if we were'nt the intended meaning of "Kit" has always been an assemblage of irelated items intended to perform a certain task. Hence I woudl have a Hacking Kit kit, or a Planet fining Kit or a Hunting Kit. The Term has been used this way for hundreds of years and is still used today in modern contexts constantly. It is also short and sweet. Why write"Preset" or "Configuration" when "Kit" holds the propper meaning, is being used in proper context, and fits the need perfectly. Just from a lazyness standpoint I'd rather write Three memorable letters than the 6 or 13 letter versions you propose. For reference: So Says Merriam Webster http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/kit So say we all! =P

Actually you are, there was a separate topic created for this Located here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2095 I support it, please show your support there so it gets proper attention. Module sets which give bonuses by being equiped together IS a whole-ly different concept than wanting to create a kit that can be un-installed and re-installed by clicking a single button, as it will include a myriad of componentsa the user decided on. -Q
