I'm wondering if anyone can supply me with a link or has the knowledge on whether its better to grab the very large and rich planet, or the large very rich planet, for production... PLEASE assume that im not plunking down and special buildings ( so its fair for each category of planet: minerals/research/artifact) thank you in advance to the mathematically inclined people who have worked this out and will no doubt answer

i should add that +12's are researched. they aren't all done, but lets assume for simplicity also, does anyone know what the difference is for production difference between the two?

even with +12s the large very rich will earn more, not sure by how much though.

As a rule, in the long run its better to take a larger planet with lesser availability because it is easier to increase the resources than it is the size. Farm some NPCs and you'll get Toxic Purifiers, Planet Data Optimizers and Terraformers.
Yes, NOW the richer planet may give you better production, but if you max it out you're stuck. A bigger planet gives more space to fill once you max the resources, giving you more production eventually.
