To work out a price:
Step One: Pick the resource of your planet
Mega rich = 200-300 CTP 1xMega rich = 300-400 CTP 2xMega rich = 400-500 CTP 3xMega rich = 500-600 CTP 4xMega rich = 600-700 CTP 5xMega rich = 700-900 CTP 6xMega rich = 900-1100 CTP 7xMega rich = 1100-1400 CTP 8xMega rich = 1400-1800 CTP 9xMega rich = 1800-2200 CTP 10xMega rich = 2200-2700 CTP 11xMega rich = 2700-3200 CTP 12xMega rich = 3200-3700 CTP 13xMega rich = 4300-4900 CTP 14xMega rich = 4900-5500 CTP 15xMega rich = 5500-6100 CTP 16xMega rich = 6100-6700 CTP 17xMega rich = 6700-7400 CTP 18xMega rich = 7400-8000 CTP 19xMega rich = 8000-9000 CTP 20xMega rich = 9000-10000 CTP 21xMega rich = 10000-11000 CTP (Any higher just add 1k CTP per 1xMR each)
Natural dysons can price anywhere between 10k-500KCTP
Step Two: Multiply you planet price by the numbers given here;
Say you have a 15xMega rich Very Massive gas planet, to work out its price use the following:
If planet is Average x Resource price by 0.70 If planet is Large x Resource price by 0.85 If planet is Very Large x Resource by 1.00 If planet is Massive X Resource price by 1.10 If planet is Very Massive X Resource price by 1.25 If planet is Colossal X Resource price by 1.40 If planet is Mega Colossal X Resource price by 1.60
Example: 15xMega rich = 5500-6100CTP = 6875-7625CTP(5500x1.25)-(6100x1.25)
Step Three: Add your passive ability's to the total
Example: 15xMega rich Very Massive with 500 Attk + 400 Def = (6875+1800CTP - 7625+3100CTP) = 8675CTP - 10725CTP
Attack bonus: 5x200 - 5x300 = 1000CTP - 1500CTP Defense bonus: 4x200 - 4x400 = 800CTP - 1600CTP = 1800CTP - 3100CTP
1x100 Attack = 200-300CTP 1x100 Defense = 200-400CTP 1x100 Cloak = 200-300CTP
Hope this helps!
These are the current prices, and how I am working out what planet's are worth! All prices are subject to change.

while I like your pricing, I do believe some planets such as a toxic be worth less that it's equivalent counterparts because of any maxed planet, toxics are the easiest to obtain

I'm afraid you can't set a planet's price in stone. Nor is it simple or accurate to attempt to measure it.
Your planet worth is off. I don't believe i've ever seen a 16x toxic sell for anywhere near that, but in fact, usually around half, if not less. Your base cost grows WAY too fast after 7x. Not to mention passive abilities are not cared for unless they reach large amounts. Those too, are overpriced in your guide. Are you sure you don't work for Apple?
The planet is worth what people are willing to pay for it, it's that simple. That being said, there are multiple factors that affect pricing.
1.) Delivery Is the seller going to come over to your legion, or are you to his? If the seller has to move, that usually increases the price.
2.) Planet type Planet type is key. There are certain artifacts that increase the resources/size of a planet based on its type, such as the toxic purifier or the Gaia seed. These affect whether the planet can or cannot be further improved in the future.
3.) Resource type. By popular consensus, Artifact worlds are the most expensive and wanted. Research comes in 2nd, and mining in last. A 3x Massive Terra can have the same worth as a 6x Toxic.
4.) Auction or non auction setting This speaks for itself.
5.) Unoccupied for Occupied? If there is significant risk involved, i guarantee you price goes down 99% of the time. Especially if it's owned by powerful players/have powerful defenses that require use of artifacts (like crimson cluster missiles) People pay more for unoccs due the less risk involved.
6.) Are there any rare artifacts? Some people buy planets just to extract valuable artifacts from them. Others, see rare artifacts as a bonus to the planet. So price can certainly fluctuate in this area.
7.) Invasion / Colonization cost The higher the cost, usually the lower the buyer will pay for it. Is it really worth it to pay for a 3x Terra and 30bil in planet taking costs? In the case that it's someone making a planet for you, they will normally charge more due to their colonization &/or abandon cost.
8.) History Is the planet owned by a player/legion that the buyer is at war with?
9.) Bonuses Does the planet have small moons on them? Or perhaps a permanent 10% increase in production? This adds value to the planet.
10.) Purge Will you purge it after you're done, or do they have to pay extra?
11.) The buyer Have you treated him/her well? Are you sure they are not taking advantage of you? Etc.
12.) Market Affiliation Prices fluctuate on whats available in the market. Take a look at planet fluxes for example. Price has gone up more than 20% in the last couple of months. If you've got a ton of people selling 5x Toxics, then they become a dime a dozen.

How great would it be if it were so simple, but your effort is a good thing. I think you may want to consider ALL production rates. For instance 5x on all three productions is worth as much as 15x on one. Look at it in terms of simple numercal values providing a means to an end. As an accountant would do.

I'd rather there be a more intelligent and fully thought-out discourse on the matter, if at all possible. Especially in the arena of buying war planets.

I'd rather there be a more intelligent and fully thought-out discourse on the matter, if at all possible. Especially in the arena of buying war planets.I'd need a lot of material to work with if i were to make a serious guide, which would require an enormous amount of time and research. I'd need varying statistics for what (and what their types would be) planets were sold for in the last month or so, i'd need to set up a few big polls so i can get a general consensus on some key topics, get info on every planet type, every unique artifact to those planet types, i'd need to know all "permanent planet bonuses", rare artifacts (and then get a poll to see what people would pay for each artifact), i'd need to get a graph of invasion/colonization cost being proportional to Level and/or # of planets colonized. I'd also need to set up quite a few defaults on some of the things i'd discussed, as to not affect planet price too much realistically. I'd need Dan to open up polls on these forums again. Because i know a link to a FB poll won't get everyone from the forum to vote (and vice versa), and i'd want a lot of people participating. And i'm seeing a minimum of 3 polls just by thinking about this. And this is assuming 6 months from now a 3x VL terra isn't going to be worth 300 CTP or 1500 CTP
