I don't see why you can't do that.
ICBLF is right but with some small change you can do it without GP.
1) Courier goes to seller's legion.
2) Seller alerts (unocc either by abandoning or just is unocc, or enemy planet if the defense is low enough)
2b) Courier colonizes/invades planet
3) Courier goes to buyer's legion
4) Courier alerts planet after 24hrs (while in their control)
5) Seller invades planet
6) Buyer invades planet
issues with this include: invasion costs can easily be billions, if the planet was occupied in the first place the previous owner might take it back while in courier's possession, failed invasions. O also if they are buying artifacts off the planet, all the invasions might destroy one or two.
