I'm not the most powerful, but ive got advice to give, and willing to back anyone up on any front. certainly not NAMALAK and building an instant level 5 base, but i can certainly gain plenty of ctp to speed the process along nicely. Just sort of wondering if id have enough people to start my own legion. 50+ with me spending the GP for the extenders for the full 60 players when needed. it would of course be an ARTI base, full out, with even distribution. i would attempt all the lab discoveries i could with my own research points.
If anyone would be interested in hypothetically joining, please post here, and ill think about making my own legion. name would be either ICARIUM (in reference to an immensely powerful character from a book series (and my dog) or ORLONGS SWORD (reference from the same book series)
I'm rank 670ish, and have a nearly 100% working knowledge of what it takes to become powerful, regardless of play style.

Let me see, Leaave my already established legion which Kicks Ass Just like it's Leaderboard sibling. Or join a legion that is less existent then WDE TIS and WAE. Let me think about that for a second. . . . . . . . . . . NO!

As for Icarium, as a protip, assuming you can get a couple other players of a decent rank, building a level 5 base takes around a month (less if you get more). During that time it can be very boring, very quiet and it will take you some considerable time to get anywhere, again, assuming that you don't have someone join who is effectively a walking steroid machine (hey, Namalak). Good luck, should you go through with it, but it isn't particularly interesting to begin with.

A few sub-300s got Blackwood Hall to Level 4 in less than twenty-four hours, then we intentionally waited for at least ten Fixers to be loyal before moving it to Level 5 in about five days, all while MyLilPony, QuaiChangCaine, myself, and others were unable to help due to having contributed to Gallifrey the day before or day of Chesterton Royal Academy's founding.

yes, im not looking to build a leaderboard legion off the bat lol, just wanting to know if there would be enough interest to warrant the month or two of waiting for atleast 40 people to come to the legion (low planet bonus' scare me)

While there is always the posibility of having a planet taken its highly unlikely that you would loose enough to affect you over the long run. I takes a lot of effort to recruit and as leader you should dedicate a bit of time online at least at the start to get to know the players and build relationships. That said while I liked my first legion with the exception of one guy, I am glad I left to start one myself and is definitly a nice aspect of the game to experience.

oh im a hardcore recruiter, ask the folks at SCION where i started out, raised myself to officer and then leadership positions. I worked my ass off to get ahead, and get the legion as a whole, stronger and more communicative. I was all the time hounding folks to ask people to come join us, regardless of if they were in a legion or not.
Simply because stronger players can help each other, and themselves, more, and players that chat together, are more likely to GIVE that help.
i look at it this way.
your playing the game with 50+ strangers... if your just playing with 50 strangers and someone asks for help, (lets say you dont need the loot from an elite) and they need it to drop to rank... well, if you dont know them, you wont care if they have to wait X amount of minutes to rank up. where as if your friends with them, youll want them to keep playing and chatting and having a good time. so youll help out on their elites or planets, or whatever.

Go start one and see what happens. I left a great legion to join one with my buddy and he and I got it to level 4 in under an hour. Most of the delay was waiting to level up to dump more in.
I like the challenge of building a legion. If it fails, which some do, then join up somewhere or start another one. It's a long game, so do what is fun.

One tip if you are starting your own legion, and please notify me beforehand if you do and I might help you a little. I'm actually quite experienced in setting up legions. But all those 5 man legions on the first page. Officer comm them, as many as humanly possible, if any answer your hails, and be warned it's a very low strike rate, like 1:100, then propose to merge with them. Do it enough and the members start coming in. It's very costly in both energy and time, but it is a tried and proven method to getting members. Plus they'll see your a relatively high ranker and may want to join just for that.

thanks epic, that was one of my biggest driving points when i was a leader at scion, i asked everyone to take a page from the new legions and com everyone of them to join.
I'm fitting in well at unknown though so it will still be a bit more before i actually get to this. but everyone who has msged me and left msgs here, will be contacted.
