JoeBlow leaves LegionX and joins LegionY.
JoeBlow then alerts on planets that belong to LegionX members. Is it wrong for LegionY to invade those planets?
Back up your opinion with why you think it is acceptable or unacceptable. Just because you don't like it or want the game to be easy is not a valid reason.

First a question. Is Legion Y aware of this and was it a plan all along?
If so I would have issues with it to some degree. Those planets locations weren't achieved in the "SPIRIT" of the game. But it is a game and I know people will use any dirty trick they can get away with until there is a rule preventing it.
For me personally I wouldn't bother if someone did this in my Legion. I prefer scanning my own planets and conquering hacked planets.

I don't really see the problem with it. If I give people planets and they leave my legion, it is my choice to be an indian giver or not since they only got those planets by my good graces in the first place. I might feel bad if it were a 15x mega rich toxic they had worked on, but oh well. A planet is either worth defending and fluxing or it isn't.
Most of the time it happens it is collusion though. That usually requires a 3rd party to actually share it though, so it is only really good for fixing the F ups when a share says to not invade, and even then it ends up on 3 people's list.

In this case it is not collusion but if a planet gets invaded you know that the whiners are going to claim whatever they can to get people to listen.
I do not see a problem with it. You know at any time someone may leave your legion. They are not locked by you. When letting people join your legion, there are risks. They could be spies, they could be losers, they could be great members. There is no way to tell.
You also don't know their reason for leaving. Their could have been some kind of real disagreement and now JoeBlow and LegionX are real enemies. What do you do to real enemies? You crush them and take their planets.

A spy could only take your planets if they had given them to you in the first place. If it was too hard for them to take, it would probably be fluxed or defended by whoever got it anyways.

Generally speaking if someone leaves our legion of there own accord we leave there planets alone unless they come after ours then all is fair

I am not saying that this is always wrong, however, you have to look at the situation.
Did Player Y from Legion X go from a Legion with an avg rank of 80 to one of an avg rank of 160? If so then no, shares should not be done.
Did said player move from a legion of avg rank 200 ---> rank 210. If so then yes, this legion would be able to actually hold their own.
I know of which player you speak about, I also know the differences in the strength of the legions. Why have a top 10 legion hammer a casual legion because of one turncoat? I believe that it is bad sport, kind of like little league getting stomped by the pros.

JoeBlow is not a real person, its a hypothetical. We have had people leave our group to go to others (or get kicked out) and I imagine some we get are the same case. Because of that I heard some paranoia about the situation and it caused me to ponder the situation. And I have better things to do than track down a legion and figure out why someone left and what the situation is. I honestly don't care, its a game. We lose planets and we take planets. When you run out of things to research and build, fighting is all thats left.

It was wrong for him to alert them, unless it was for revenge for some reason. I wouldn't expect the new Legion to know that it was that person's old Legion, and if they didn't know what happened then it's not bad for them to invade. If they do see what happened, and that it wasn't just for revenge, then the new Legion should probably just kick that guy out.

I actually sold a planet location to a fellow legion member back when I was a noobie (this was when your legion was just whoever was in your facebook friends list). I didn't leave the group out of spite or anything, it just wasn't the place for me. The person was pretty cool with me, helped me out and explained the ropes. The legion I moved to however, is at a total war with his legion though, but i've never given the location of the planet. He helped me out so I'll be cool with him. Of course, if the person were ever to come back and ever start anything serious with me, retaking the planet is always an option, but I wouldn't do it unless provoked. When it comes down to planet sharing, it's all about integrity and honor. A few people have it, most don't. You take your chances.
