So, been watching the legions forum, and it seams the ones that get most replies are ones looking for legions and the already well known or big legions. So I decided to make a small guide for newer or smaller legions to recruit here.

1. Topic names:

A. So basically, most here as I can see are used to the ALL CAPS TEXT SAYING YOUR LEGION IS RECRUITING WITH EXPLANATION MARKS!!! But the thing is, even though it is flashy, most around don't really look at those anyway, either just mark them read or click other more interesting topics. Yet you don't want to make your topic just bland like "we are recruiting" because that is not interesting enough really. BUT, it all still depends on the TYPE of person you want to join, so here I will say some good types of topic names to get views and possibly replies.

B. Types of names for types of players; If you want some larger amount of clicks from laid back, not over serious players, a funny topic may be in suit, like "Come here, we have cookies", but with YOUR OWN STYLE of joking around, as that was still a little less adequate example. One topic name to get clicks from some more serious players would be one stating come grow with us or something similar, or brag about your bases speed of growth in it if your base is level 3 and above. If you want newer players, well, don't really post here, as not many even look at the forum, they just check out the legions in the front of the list, refer to my running a legion guide for more info their. http://galaxylegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16725

2. Getting your legions known previously so your topic is checked out.

A. A good strategy to get your topic clicked, replied to, and player joining your legion, is mentioning your legion slightly in other places, or being a well known forum member with the legion in your sig will do fine. Then, to help grow your base and knowledge of legion, possibly trade in the trading post for stuff for your legion, or sell planets, and if you follow on deals, it is likely multiple people will actually go to your topic and right a comment telling those looking for legion that your a good place to be. And finally make forum friends, that might end up also suggesting your legion, and clicks will come for the fact your topic has multiple replies, showing the legion must be interesting.

3. The body of your thread;

A. For one, still depending on who you want to join, and how well your legion is known, follow one of these tips. SO, If you want members who look forward to contributing, and are serious in game, make your body semi-large, explaining in a fun way all of what you have to offer, your base, rules, etc. If you want players whom want to have fun, Then make your body not to long, explain about the talkativeness of the legion, and all the fun within. If you want laid back players, Then make the body rather small, but funny and showing you legion is laid back. If you want new players, again, look to my other thread about running a legion as they rarely come here, but you may mention all ranks accepted just incase.

B. Some other things is keeping the body organized all of the time, not just one un-punctuated, complete blob of words because most won't bother to read it then. Most the time, it is good to look at your legion, and then on the topic say all of the good things, but don't stretch the truth, because players joining might see it, and go to your thread saying it was a lie, then your legion is in trouble, as well as players are not bound to stay if it is the case. And, A big suggestion is to NOT claim any sort of relation with a top legion just to get members, they will likely notice and start punishing your entire legion.

and again, for running the legion in game check out my running a legion thread here: http://galaxylegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16725
