GL is a fun game with lots of diversity and approaches to the game. But one thing I think that is a troubling issue is, it has become a place for angry adults to live out their childish ways or a place for teenage boys to act tough and be bullies because they can get away with it. There are no real tangible accountability for jerks.

Normal people play with a certain level of respect. Dan has had to modify the game a number of times to stop abuses. I think it's time to start a grass roots effort to stop abuses. Maybe a thread that makes people aware of legions that behave badly. Whether its multi accounting, alerting on single disables, infiltrating legions to boot members out of legion, Hacking, Etc.

Here is what NOT to post:
1. Bullying other legions by making claims about them that are false
2. Posting about legions just because you "dislike" a legion because they are better/more advanced than your legion.
3. Calling out a legion for doing its job of protecting and defending its members and its base. (1st disable alerting does not fall into this category)

Post legion name, average rank, and short description of abuse experienced.

Lets start a list of legions that behave badly.... Maybe this can be a sort of accountability against childish abuses.

NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED. As legions get multiple mentions, they will begin to RANK UP the Legions behaving badly list.

ok its obvious ppl who's gonna be said tbh but i think mentioning a legion here will cause probs since we're gonna havve loudmouths using this opotunity to slag off legions there at war with or just dislike over past or personal reasons. so its gonna be unreliable

I thought about that as well. Also people may not want to make themselves a target for legions by pointing them out.

BUT, How can we address the abuses?

I nominate the LEGION OF STAR TREK - avg rank 173 - They have a policy that single disables are alerted and officers repeat disable even after direct communication with legion Ldrs.

This problem has been plaguing MMORPG games since time immemorial. Even thread like this is not very useful because there are LOTS of abusers in this kind of game, no way we can report them all, and sometimes they are paying players.

Moreover, there are times when someone who doesn't usually abuse other players, like yours truly, wants a little outlet from stress in the workplace, gets sore for the simplest aggression, and enjoys a little (well, not SO little) stomping on the aggressor.

I trust Dan is trying hard to level out the playing field, to ease up entry for newbies. But, face it, abusers are always a step ahead of any, ANY, rule. Just like in RL.

But I guess it would be useful if Dan would make a Leaders Only Forum, where leaders can sort out "differences in opinion" under his auspices. This forum should be accessible only by a special button available for leaders in each legion. This kind of forum will also be beneficial in that other legions can help finding solutions for grievances and complaints and whatnot.

There's already an FB group for this (Leaders of Galaxy Legion) It is self-moderated and has been very good at resolving issues and getting legions in touch with each other. I'd prefer Dan & Co spend their time creating stuff for the game rather than settling petty squabbles between people that are in most cases clueless.

seriously? i disabled 2 yesterday and another 1 the day b4 that and they just havnt fought back

Well maybe they just like to pick on weaker opponents. You are maybe too strong for them to alert?

This I don't know, hence my suggestion. And maybe the leaders of newly formed legions don't know it either. Maybe Dan could include the page somehow in Wiki? Or somewhere else that is easily found, even by newbies that try and make their own legions?
