Just curious, when you mean 30 people in the legion did nothing, you do mean 30 people within the legion in the npc's rank range right? If you really do soft lock npcs before timer is no where near out, most legions probably won't want you.

Dysonians do ask if you are unable to lock, that you let us know, and we expect you to plug away at it as your tank gets filled. Our boss always go down. we are not crazy about soft locks and you may lose your spot if you do not hard lock. But why would you waste your e like that? the goods from the boss are awesome.

Not wasting E if it's not gonna be filled. ;)

I really don't see the problem with soft-locking npcs. If you're in a active legion you'll get bumped by someone that does have enough energy to lock it and if you're in an inactive legion then it gets spots filled that wouldn't be filled otherwise. Either way no harm no foul.

It was a point of contention for the two months since we merged. At Stark where I played with some people I knew and started out, the advanced players always did extra damage on bosses to help the newer players. I was beginning to get to the point as I put in my original post as I am starting to NPC more. I threw a lot of my energy into pvp at low ranks mostly for medal points as it seems these medals are easiest and pvping is easiest at lower ranks (just my perception).

But regardless. Here is a classic example from yesterday where myself and two other players were told we were moochers. A graxis was about to expire in like 5 hours or something, it had two open spots on it and I think like 10% left. Two people who were already on it had done 1% and 0% each. So I threw on 1% because it was what I had after trying to find banes since I ran across a bane trap pvping. Someone eventually kills the graxis with the last spot never filled and doesnt even ask the legion to just tag it so they have a shot at the prisoners. The three of us on there with the 1% are called moochers even though 30 people in the legion DID NOTHING AT ALL. Anyone was free to lock and take my or anyone else's spot.

1. you are not a new player, the bosses in your range you can easily lock with minimal effort.

2. you have NEVER, not a single time, hard locked a boss. THAT is why I was having a problem with you. It was always 1% with you while you expected someone else to pick up your share of damage even (and this did happen a few times) when you were the last person on it that needed the lock to finish it.

If someone is planning on taking a boss by themselves and wants to be nice and let others on, not a problem. But when it is every single boss every single time that you try to get something without doing any work on it whatsoever, thats cheap and not how a legion works together.

But I'm done, if you all think I should have been picking up his damage every boss then I guess it's my mistake, doesn't mean I want you back though. I'll be happy doing more damage to bosses for others who can and will actually lock bosses.

I will say that Ignatnic was very polite on the comms. I wish things would have worked out.

I'm the "three moochers" guy he's talking about. I wouldn't bother posting here if he didn't bring it up. But now I feel an Internet compulsion to tell my side of the story. So here's the example he's referring to:

I alerted a boss that was barely in my range and very difficult for me to kill. Several people locked it. Three experienced players tapped it while it had about a day left. If they would have just locked it, the boss would have been finished, or at least within a couple percent of being done.

Our legion "list of rules" asks that people post whether or not they plan to come back to finish their lock. There was no post.

At eight hours left, I was starting to worry. I needed to know if I was going to have to start saving up energy to kill this thing myself since we mostly have low-level players who won't even see the boss. I asked if these three were planning on locking it, or if they were just going to mooch off the rest of us.

No response.

Eventually, a higher-level player took pity on me and did a bunch of damage so that I could finish it off.

I hope Ignatnic finds a place where his style of play fits. Someplace with some powerful players where he won't be asked to take an active role helping the younger guys would be perfect.
