Sorry once again to many words to read everything involved. I believe in going against the thread or 'grain.' gez, where would America be right now if we just had done what everyone else wanted us to do or England if they had not signed the magna carta. No where.
So you can join a leaderboard legion and be no one in a big legion. Or someone in a small legion. Having your own crew requires work some of us are not afraid of that. The goal is simple the task hard. In your eye's canshow you wasted your time trying to start a legion. In other's eyes glory is in the task at hand.
Your opinion is noted and accepted as such no hard feelings. I disagree.

Your opinion is noted and accepted as such no hard feelings. I disagree. Where did i state that i wasted my time starting a legion, let alone trying? And we are not talking about the real world. We are talking about GL. In any case, i've been reading what everyone else has said and thank you. I know i came off as really narrow minded and idiotic about it, and i didn't look at all the angles. I apologize if i have offended anyone. Frankly, i'm just frustrated with other smaller legions, Xzien & Jawwa posts can partially explain my attitude towards level 3s. I redirect my opening post rant at the lvl 3s that are never going to get anywhere. >_>

I redirect my opening post rant at the lvl 3s that are never going to get anywhere. >_> understood. my suggestion to you then would be to focus less on recruiting via the forums, and look more to targeting the minority of actives within some of those smaller legions. and rather than using terms such as 'assimilation' or 'merging' or critiquing the negatives of the smaller legion, ASK them if they are happy with what they are achieving at the moment. IF they express dissatisfaction, then you can explain how moving to a larger legion could provide them with more benefits than they are currently earning.

We have tried that, asking other legions to be a part of our family, explaining to them the benefits, in a myriad of ways, and we have never used the word assimilation in-game and never have pointed to them the negatives of anything. Most of them never respond back, and the ones with a decent # of members just ask for a pact or say they will think about it but then never respond again. Meanwhile they lose members and activity. We may have had 1 person join due to in-game recruitment efforts. Everything else has been through the forum.

Why's everyone hating on Canshow for? He's dedicated to his legion, and wishes the people in other legion to have a great opportunity to enjoy the game at large.

I sort of deserved it. Not everybody wants to go into a better developed legion, let alone a new legion all together. I respect their choices and motives. Or atleast now i do, LOL

But, with this last comment along with a couple of your other recent comments, you gained it back with a little extra.

Don't misunderstand me, What I was referring to peoples time and dedication. I mean you have to hit level 3 to get to level 4, and so on. As regards to the real world, I was simply trying to enhance my point further. I am not hating on canshow, nothing personal and still nothing personal and I can even relate its frustrating having legions that are not putting any work in and refuse to advance themselves. Yes, I agree. The ones however that are trying good for them. As you already stated you nulled them out.

Canshow, if you want a tip for what worked best for me... it's a bit unorthodox... but I kidnapped them. I would go in with the might of my superior ship (see advertisement) and kindly but firmly disassemble their ship. Then I'd leave a quirky message that was part self depracation part legion offer. Had atleast 3 players in my legion who are currently active who took me up on it and a lot more who came but left GL for real life reasons. You won't get all of em by a long shot, but by doing so you show them that you can protect them. You show them the fruits of being in a stronger legion. You also highlight with the humour and not being a #*&$, that taking part in your legion will be fun and not an exercise in grief. This technique should be exercised on players up to roughly level 150. And more specifically ones who don't already have 3 offers on their comm as they're just ignoring everybody.
