Would it be possible to create a warehouse on one or more of your planets where you can store excess stuff ( for a price of course). Im sorry if this idea was asked ( and turned down ) before

I was thinking about the same idea last night. Of course the downside to this structure would be that if your planet is captured, so would all your resources.
+1 vote from me.

Im sorry if this idea was asked ( and turned down ) before If " Excess stuff " could mean structures so that one could easily install / uninstall production structures from mining to research, to artifact, to adding more defense, attack , or population then you have my vote. The install / uninstall price could be the same as changing equipment on your ship, the repair cost ! The warehouse could be configured such that a single planet space would give the equivalent of the entire planet space as storage space. Cost of the warehouse could be relatively high to allow the flexibility.

The warehouse could be created on your RACIAL Home World. (ie: not one of your own planet, but a virtual one.)
Kind of like putting it in a bank account.
Alternatively, create highly cloaked storage pods. Or better yet a series of them with defined upgradeable space limitations. A button on the trade screen would bring up the list of pods to access, each with a button to show contents to use, or trade, etc.
The location is known by the player. This would be a HUGE risk however, considering the content vale to the player. This risk can be minimized wtih multiple pods, A single pod could perhaps be discoverable by raiding or hacking. Although, I think pods may give an distinct advantage to higher level players, unless there is some sort of level filter.

Addenedum to the last post...
The storage pods need not be on a planet, but rather just sitting somewhere in space....

Quote: where anyone can take it? Yeah... As I stated, its a huge risk! But mitigated by a number of factors. Multiple pods, so you never lose everything. They start off highly cloaked, and can be upgraded with additional cloaking and defenses, shielding, and storage space... for a price of course... Actually, that gives me an idea... create a bankers guild...An NPC guiild, similar to the dark smugglers guild, but beneficial, not baneful. It ain't easy to break into a bank...

Also, the storage pods can be deployed like fighters can. (from this idea)

thing is by setting up shop on your planet you give away the position of the planet.
and potentially your stock on the planet.
though an auction house idea could be neat.
