Dan, I am an addict to this game, but I have hit a point where I am starting to lose interest and the following is why.

As I increase in rank I am starting to think that maybe you should narrow the gap a little. The low end of guys I can see are not a fair fight when I am closing in on being able to see 100 ranks either direction. And as those who approach the 1000 rank mark they will be able to see 400 ranks below them. You can not say that will be a fair fight.

What I propose is a tier type idea based on rank, and using easy numbers for reference points such as every 200 ranks, or every 200 ranks you narrow the gap just a little, by 5% or so, this might have to be a logarithmic scale. On the low end 40% is a good deal, but as one gets higher in rank the more they can see. E.g. rank 250*40% can see ranks 100 levels lower than themselves, where as rank 500 can see 200 levels. At these point there is enough difference of Decks and tech that make it a one sided fight in the higher rank's favor. Because as we have guys hitting the 1000 rank they will be able to see a whopping 400 ranks below them.

Of course the down side is eventually when or if we reach rank 2000 then the percentage would have to be even smaller changes. But hey it is an idea that I think will keep some of the mid to lower ranger happy with some of the complaining I have seen going around. Just an idea to prevent what I foresee the death of this game lying in the fact that eventually the upper end will farm the lower end into apathy and dislike.

at a bare minimum the upper limit should be raised to 66% more than your level. A level 1000 can see down to 600, but a 600 can only see up to 840. You should at least have the possibility of finding the people that can find you. If this works the same way with badges, well that would just be silly.

i dont think that you should have those people show up on your battle tab, cause its hard enough killing people 20-30 ranks higher than me. but im all for it being changed to where the badges count for players 66% higher than you. that way you get something for disabling someone who battletabed you.

problem is at the high end you only have a few people to fight at all tho maybe there should be a reward for getting badges from a higher lvl player say 2? but they have to be so much higher.

yeah. 2 badges for people past the 40% mark? i wouldnt mind that.

I fully agree. I can go head to head with a few ships above this mark but I don't get the credit...

Though just to be sure, restrict it to red and yellow badges. because it is entirely possible to hack the highest level if they don't have any scan or cloak.
