The goal of this chain it to be an informational mission set that teaches new players how to do many things, gives them ideas on what to expect in the future, as well as entice them to want to buy things. Some general things: 1) I don’t know if possible, but I would see energy cost and experience to be related to your level. So mission one energy requirement could be 5 energy times ½ your level. A level 1 would only need 3 energy while a level 100 would need 250 energy to do the mission. Because of this, it encourages you to do the missions as early and as often as possible. It would probably need to be capped at so point. 2) I will include some reasoning with the text in case there are things you are wondering why I am doing some of the things I am doing. 3) I realize there are things that Dan will need to change, be it for efficiency sake, coding issues or because Dan thinks it is too over powered. 4) I would love to see each of the missions as a ‘daily’ but not each round as a daily. In the end, I want people to not have to do this over 100 days but over say 2 weeks. 5) Requirements for the next mission would be for having completed mission 1. IE, you must have the ally to do mission 2. You must have the planet from mission 2 to do mission 3 and so on. 6) Maybe require this chain before all of the other chains become available? Example of tutorial mission page; added a box to explain something useful from the tutorial. Below, Items starting with an asterisk would be in the tutorial box.

Home World Chain: Mission 1: The beginning [Race Commander] Congratulations %name, you have been promoted. Sadly, that isn’t really good news. You are being given a colony on the far side of the quadrant. It is tiny, inhospitable and really, not somewhere you will enjoy. Before you leave, you will need to get a space-hauler ally* to help you bring your colony and supplies to the new world.
*An ally is a self-contained ship that will work in conjunction with your own ship. Like your ship, it can level up but has a max level of 100. It levels up be doing tasks that can be found in the hover over next to its ranks. It may also show you some of the bonuses it will give along the way. An ally is a long term investment with no real downside.
Cost: 5 energy Attempts: 10 Rounds: 1 Gain: Robo-hauler Ally BR221, Robo-Hauler Type: Robotic Base stats: Attack: 10, Defense: 10 Rank bonus: 2% increase to stats Unlockable Stats: Rank 25: +10 hull Rank 50: +10 cloak Rank 75: +5% cargo (Fixed, no rank bonus) Rank 100: +3% storage (Fixed, no rank bonus) Next Rank Requirement: Successfully complete a task in the Home World Chain (Max Rank 100) Upkeep: exceedingly low to zero.

Mission 2: A Long Journey
BR221 will serve you well. Load up and head out, your future awaits you. Good luck, you will need it. This artifact* contains the coordinates to your new world. *Artifacts are the life blood of this game. They can buff your ship or debuff your enemies’ ship. They can increase your planetary production or help you invade. To access them, click on the Trade tab at the top of the screen, then the artifacts subtab (insert an image maybe with an arrow?). Though out the game you will see buttons to use appropriate artifacts (Use Enemy Artifacts, Use Other Artifacts, etc). To continue this mission chain, click Trade tab, find the “Home World coordinate data” and click Use.
[This would create Homeword ##### and auto, free colonize it for them. Homewold colonization does not take a planet slot. It is also immune to planetary upgrade artifacts (terraformers, PDOs, race abilities, etc)].
Cost: 10 energy Attempts: 10 Rounds: 1 Gain: Home World coordinate data: Gives you an invulnerable, tiny toxic with all very sparse stats. Colonization of planet gives perm ability, stealth screen and explains colonization events.
Side note about planet: While invincible, I do not think it should be invisible or have major cloak to start with. When attacked, production is reduced by 50% for a period of 2 days and the game insta-fluxes it. This would give people an incentive to max out the passive cloak on it but would also allow people to use Uldri artifacts, etc on their planets. The person attacking would get a small random amount of arties/mining/research, maybe the equivalent of a 15 min of their production (Planetary Raid Cache).

Mission 3: Friends?
[Race Commander] Hello %name, how is commandership treating you? Because we are friends, I would like to give you a little help. I am told that the Mylarai miners have something that will help you. A group of them want to go through your area of space. I think if you charge them a toll, they will be willing to give you technology to make your planet a little better.
*Toxic purifiers can be found through out the game, dropped by NPCs (starting at Rank X). They will increase the production of a toxic plant by 2 to a max of 16x. To use the purifiers, click the Planets tab, then the planet named Homeworld, Actions tab, Use Planet Artifact and then Home World Toxic purifier.
Cost: 15 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 5 Gain: 5x Home World Toxic purifier; Can only be used on your home world increasing your mining production by 2 per use.
Aside: You Home World is now Mega Rich mining, Very Sparse Artifact and Research and your Ally is level 25.

Mission 4: The experiment
[Race Commander] Good job working with the Mylarai. My contacts there said they were surprised that someone with your diplomatic skills was running such a backwater world. We then joked that it isn’t water but a toxic mess. Sometimes you have to joke to keep from crying. Anyway, my Mylarai contact suggested that you contact Dr. Rubicon. A quick sampling of your planet shows it has some properties the good doctor is looking for. If it works, his theories on Quasi-Spacial Expanding* could benefit both of you.
* Quasi-Spacial Expanders are available in the Artifact Market (link to market). They are a powerful device that will allow you to increase the size of your planet to Very Massive. You can get to the market from the Trade Tab -> Buy Artifacts or clicking on the Redeem Points text under your shields and then “Buy Artifacts”. To use the expanders, click the Planets tab, then the planet named Homeworld, Actions tab, Use Planet Artifact and then Home World Quasi-Spacial expanders.
Cost: 20 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 5
Gain: 5x Home World Quasi-Spacial expanders. Can only be used on your home world increasing size of your planet by one per use.

Mission 5: Danger from the sky
BR221: Danger, danger, commander. Long term sensors detect a wave of asteroids heading towards the planet. Collision is guaranteed. Commander: BR221, do I have enough time to get out there and destroy them. BR221: Affirmative and the dust cloud could be useful. Commander: Explain BR221: I can harvest the dust cloud to form a ring* around the planet. We can harvest from this ring increasing our production.
* Rings are one of 5 planetary augments that can happen naturally (very rare) or be purchased through the Artifact Market (link to market). You can get to the market from the Trade Tab -> Buy Artifacts or clicking on the Redeem Points text under your shields and then “Buy Artifacts”.
Cost: 25 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 10
Gain: Man-made Ring arranger (artifact builds smaller rings then purchasable ones, giving 10% boost to all production vs 20%)

Mission 6: Trouble ahead, trouble behind
[Race Commander] We have received some Intel from a Dr. Rubicon. He’s told us that there are some Rogue Scientists in the area trying to steal his ideas; the ones you helped him with earlier. He will give you the cloak codes* so you can find these ships and destroy them. He said they may have something of value for you.
Cost: 20 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 10 Gain: Rogue RSL ship, ship drops 10x Home World Planetary Data Optimizers. Can only be used on your home world, increasing research production of your planet by one per use.
* Some missions drop artifacts, others will add enemies to your battle tab. To find the enemy, click Battle and at the top, it will show you the enemy. Kill it for a special reward to help your planet.

Mission 7: Powerful Friends
[BR221] ALERT: we are receiving a distress call from the Taltherian ship Xiphos [You] On Screen [Taltherian] We have been hit by a gamma burst and need somewhere to land. While we don’t have much in the way of credits, we will make it worth your while to let us stop. [BR221] Commander, archives show the Taltherian to be a very rare race with an innate ability* to increase the artifact production of a planet. If they will do this for you, it would help you. [You] Taltherian Commander, I give you permission to land at docking 4, hanger 12, BR221 will send you coordinates and clear the way for you.
Cost: 20 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 10 Gain: Increases home world artifact production by one per round.
* Abilities are gained from missions, through race changes or from modules throughout the game.

Mission 8: Too much attention
[Dr. Rubicon] My work here has attracted much more attention than I expected. I apologize for putting your new colony in harm’s way. I do have another project I would like to try. While I can move to another planet if you’d like, it should benefit you in the long run. Please find me some cloak crystals and we can see if my experiment will work.
Cost: 20 energy Attempts: 5 Rounds: 10 Gain: Planetary Stealth Screen
* Upon colonization and sometimes at random, planets can gain passive abilities. Some of these are transient lasting a week and other are permanent. This one, the stealth screen, is a permanent one and will increase the cloak of your planet by 30%. While you probably don’t have any need for cloaking at the moment, in the future, you will be very happy with it.

Mission 9: Take the battle to them
[BR221]: Commander, transport ships to and from this planet are being harassed by other ships* in the area. You should get up there and do something about it. Cost: 20 energy, 1 red badge Attempts: 1 Rounds: 10
Gain: Enemy Hull (+25 hull, perm increase like Durtanium brackets)
* Player vs. Player (PvP for short), is an aspect of the game where you can fight other players in the game. Disabling an opponent within a specific level range of you will give you a red badge. Once disabled, you can also raid them for a yellow badge. Your ability to raid depends on your crew count, their crew count, is either of you a raider (profession) as well as some artifact boosts you may get later in the game.

To find PvP, click the battle tab, then player owned, enemy ships will be at the bottom listed as “Enemy Players in Range”. Badges can be traded for items in the Battle Market (located at the top of the Battle page, View Battle Market button).

Mission 10: Planetary Progression
[Race Commander] Dr. Rubicon has sent a formal request to the high command of %insert your race% request another experiment on your planet. The high command decided that it seems like a good idea but as you have been doing so well that the decision should be made by the local commander, which is you. Contact him directly. [Dr. Rubicon] Progress my friend, that is the name of the game. I believe, that with your help, I will be able to turn your world into something you’ve never seen before. You will have to trust me but I believe that if this works, it could change the balance of power in the galaxy! I hope to change your planet*, making it bigger and better.
Cost: 20 energy Attempts: 10, small chance of failure, just start over, maybe a 1 day non-stacking 10% planetary production reduction. Rounds: 10
Gain: Home World Hyper-terraformer (makes homeworld massive, 3x all resources); note, this would be the final stats of the planet. It would be immune to quasi-spacial expanders and any kind of resource increase. [Aside, my hope is that this would show people how good a hyper-terraformed planet is and would entice them to buy the terraformers needed to create another.]
* Planetary transformers are very rare in this game but also very powerful. At rank 25, The Terra Project mission will open. This will allow you to turn any one planet to a Massive sized, 13x Mining/Artifact/Research planet that no one will take. It is a great place to put rare or purchased planetary buildings. The Terra Project is followed by The Colossal Project that will allow you to turn a metallic planet into a mystical colossal sized, 28x Mining/Artifact/Research Dyson Sphere that no one will take.

Mission 11: Orbital Problems
[BR221]: Commander, a Mylarai extractor is blockading* our planet. It appears to be unaffiliated with the Mylarai that helped you previously. You will need to destroy it so we can once again get resources from our planet. Attempts: 1 Rounds: 10
Gains: Mission spawns a Mylarai extractor blockade, gain Mylarai debris
* Enemy blockades can happen to your planet. An NPC will appear in orbit of one of your planets reducing the resources it produced by 90%. You have to destroy the blockade either by clicking on it on the planet picture or finding it on your battle tab. Make sure to visit the planet again after you destroy the blockade to make sure you are getting full production.

Mission 12: Reverse Engineering
[BR221]: It appears we can reverse engineer the Mylarai debris to create new planetary building blue-prints*.
Attempts: 10 Rounds: 1
Gain: Deep-Core Exotic Extractor Blue-Prints* Deep-Core Exotic Extractor: Planetary building, size 1, mining/research/artifact +1. If built on an exotic or rift planet, production doubles and +50 Exotic Matter per hour per extractor. Cap for this would be equal to 1:100th your mining capacity including mining storage buildings. (Not sure if this is a viable option but would make smaller exotic planets a little more enticing). Max 1 per planet.
*Blue-prints are found throughout the game from missions. They allow you to permanently build a new planetary building or ship module.

Mission 13: Who is in our neighborhood?
[Race Commander] Now that you are a bit more entrenched, it might be a good idea to see who is around you. Perform a scan run* and find 5 planets. As your scanners are not great, we have instructed BR211 on how to make a scan buff for you to allow you to scan.
Attempts: 1 Rounds: 1
Gain: Temp scan boost [aside, the temp scan boost will allow them to find 5 uninhabited planets no matter how many planets are in their DB and unlimited until 5 planets are scanned]
* Scanning for planets is essential in this game. To do so, click the Planets button, then the Scan For New Planets. This will tell you your scanning power, how many planets you’ve discovered as well as your chance for finding a new planet (very poor, poor, fair, good). Planets will be uncolonized, legion owned or enemy owned; good or bad. The number of planets you have scanned will vs your scanning power will determine your ability to scan new planets. Also, cloaked planets are harder to find.

Mission 13: On your own
[Race Commander] Commander %name, the high council is very happy with your progression. They feel like you have turned this backwater planet into some where people would want to go. You are an example to your people. As you are so far out, we will have trouble supplying you, although, from what I’ve seen, you don’t need us. I would suggest finding a group of local friends to join. This Legion* of like-minded commanders should help progress you even further and teach you things I cannot. The high council will be awarding you the Medal* of New Beginnings.
Attempts: 1 Rounds: 1 Gain: Medal of New Beginnings (Medal Awarded)
*The last suggestion this tutorial can give you is to find a legion. To do so, Click the Legion Button, then the Recruiting Legions tab. Find a legion on this list that seems to fit what you are looking for and click join or find one that will take you automatically (Look for the (Open) designation).
*Medals are achievements in the game unlocked when you perform a certain number of things. You can learn about the ones available to you by clicking Ship, then View Medals. This medal has unlocked the ability to change how your ship looks. You can access that by clicking the Ship tab, then the Settings button and then the Titles & Ships Tab will show the available designs for your ship. As you progress through the game you will earn more ship designs.

At the end of all this, a new player will end with an invincible 3x all, Massive exotic planet with small rings and a stealth screen. They will be unable to buff it any further so it shouldn’t be over-powered or keeping them from wanting to buy better ones.
The ally you get should also be level 100 when you are done with all of the missions.

Well thought out, I like it it! Only thing I would add is maybe something about reserch in one of the missions, that gives you afew data disks and suggests Hull and or planet production.

This is an excellent idea and certainly a great improvement over the current in-game tutorial.

One could easily fit in a mission explaining Mining/Research/Artifact production. That said, it was sort of left out because those things are mentioned in the tutorial I believe.
