Apparently there is a need to install a cap for rank difference in receiving a stat for a kill.

A certain Legion has taken to having lower level players alert everyone on their BT for everyone 1000+ ranks higher to disable.

As if this game did not already have enough issues with keeping players.

Less than 3 years ago (when I started) there were still 50k players in this game. Three months ago there were 7800. Currently there are 7500.

Is there really much doubt this game will cease to exist in another year?

Your right the game is poorly advertised and caters to a VERY specific mindself. Not many people are willing to play a game for a year before they can really start playing a game. While I will not argue that GP players have an edge compared to other facebook games its negligible. Which is likely one of the saddest things, this is one of the MOST fair facebook games (by facebook game standards) yet so few people play it. Without fresh blood the game will wither. The game needs to be more new player friendly, Now I realize that many will say "the game has never BEEN more new player friendly" but that is not true. while yes research is completed faster, Poor pvp experience at low rank ( of which SSB is partialy to blame...), combine with "ranking is bad APH is good" mentality have made it very hard for new players to wrap their heads around, You can say I'm wrong but numbers don't like.

Your typical casual player will play between 15-60 mins a day. this game does facility that kind of play style, I mean we have legons with 24 hour sceduals for base locks, Legions are merging, a year ago my legion was ranked 70th..... now we are in the top 50..... we have NOT gotten that much stronger we have just merged with other legions.


But enjoy what you can, Gl is a great fun game, I would love to see it succeed, but until we get more new player friendly elements (example the tutorial suggestion that showed you how to pvp, told you about Damage cap, told you about good planets, Gave you a Massive 3x mega rich all planet that was invincable at the end of the chain ) we can't attract new players,

On the upside GL is very good at holding players, and most of the players remaining are GP players you have no idea how often I see on my BT players with GP allys, Fathers, Tiny's ect. So if we can shore the supply side we can definitly make this game really really good. as we could get new players AND make them stick.

no, there aint a need. outside of rank range you only get the kill stat, not a red badge.


"everyone on their BT" is impossible. you can only PvP alert ships that have disabled, hacked, raided or stolen a planet from you in the last 24 hours. so pick better targets for your PvP actions or stay out of it.


whiners who whine about the 'death' of the game will whine no matter what is done. better off without them. most facebook games live and die within a couple years. this one is still going strong after 6. Dan's doing something right.

Only a true fool believes 7,500 players is "going strong".

People who are part of the problem commenting on the problem, denying there IS a problem is even more funny than the dying game.

You keep PVPing those over 1k ranks below you, but you have no one to brag to sunshine - no one cares.

If you have been playing 2-5 years, are under rank 300 and gloat over a kill death ratio and freak when you get killed YOU are the problem.

If the only kills you rack up are NEWER ships trying to rank up and enjoy the game YOU are the problem.

The game is tough ranks 1-700 without having to dodge the SSB/MSB with 2-5 years of hull built up to even get a badge back.

When you cry * OMG!!!! YOU ARE BEATING UP A RANK 198* it is comical . rank 198 with 20k hull and 100 damage cap. Take your death, don't repair for 2 days while you are alerted and cry all over everyone's comm * HE KILLED ME!!! OMG HE KILLED ME!!! WHY!!??!?!??!?!"

What does a 2-5 year SSB/MSB do for the game? Buy GPs? ummmm no , Do they help the legion missions? No, hitting elites? No....Just killing newer weaker ships and complaining they are out of energy. Base hitting? sure . One or two hits if they scan it.

It is funny when the true bottom feeders of the game scream cry and point the finger when their game play style is what truly runs off new players and are burdens to a legion.

Rank up lil fella. Get outta the kiddy pool. Just a death. There's a repair button and its free. Right up your alley.

this is wrong. i have seen zero evidence that the majority of players in rank 1 to 700 are running SSBs. the only ones spouting this crap are over rank 1500 (and have been for years).


but FUNK is right on the mark here. in my SSB guide, i list only 3 reasons to justify going SSB:


the only long.run benefit is C. so if you are running a SSB to focus on PvP, you should NEVER be whining about being targeted back for your PvP actions. if you built your SSB properly, those higher.ranked ships are the ONLY ships you need to worry about in terms of PvP retaliation.


and here FUNK is back to being wrong. 2-5 year SSB/MSBs definitely are capable of buying GP to support the game, they definitely help with the first set of legion missions, and they definitely hit elites that they can see.

FUNK is on somewhat more solid ground with the energy and base arguments, but those are not the major parts of the game for most players. in most legions, unless the leadership is enlightened, bases are just not worth the effort for lower ranks since they will never be in a high enough damage position to get a decent chance at a crate. but given the trainee mods and the development of new long.term players, i see zero justification for FUNK's assertion that SSB/MSB ships are burdens to a legion. planet scans are shared up.rank and down.rank, PvP alerts are shared up.rank and down.rank, hard-won experience is passed down from the high.ranks down to the low.ranks, while low.ranks bring the enthusiasm that might flag for those over rank 2200.


and FUNK is again wrong and right. ranking up quickly makes zero sense if you intend to focus on PvP. but again, if you do focus on PvP, you have zero right to complain when others target you back.

if you are NOT focusing on PvP, then FUNK is correct that ranking up is a more prudent choice. but ranking up just to rank up is also wrong, and is not rewarded long.term by the game.

but in the long run, we're all dead anyway. so play on. don't whine.

Most of my observations in regards to SSB/MSB builds are based on the posters stats and the reaction of 85% of the SSBs i do take down.

Every thing expressed is strictly opinion as by definition there are only opinions and no clear cut right and wrong when expressing opinions. There is a right and wrong when posting things that are not factual like " I gifted Nulls to a friend"

The fact that legions, and you can tell simply by following alerts, looking at legions, and seeing halcs and activity-- the new generation "if you will" is almost all slow rank , k/d is paramount ssbs...or people trying to play and be guided by good legions. Over time the drop in player base, imho is dualfold...older players due to lack of high end content and npc's and lower ranks due to severe heinous nature of getting working and being told things will get better with the light being so far down the tunnel its a fly spec.

Avoiding all debate of cap and strategy, the fact that less people are mid rank and those that are have been there forever, presents a provocative inclination that these people aRE indded the issue. At higher ranks pvp is more about time you have avail to fight and kill people and whether you want the retal possibilities. At low rank its pretty much a slog fest...even in our great legion there are people of low rank who will (most likely) never contribute in a meaningful way to anything. A lot of legions sit semi full but pointlessly listing. HAving 50+ people is nice for planet cloak, but if 40 only collect and kill 3 people a day while collecting, wheeeeeee.

Senator, you are an example of the game in its most naked form. You plan well and rank, but its all very calculated and precise. There are literally hunrdeds of ships much stronger than you and with double, triple or more prod , yet you are on all leaderboards. This is to your credits, but endemic of the state of things. I would again propose that high ranks have gotten stronger by more lm, npcs, basing for rewards, etc. This is why they dont just flood the leaderboards. They dont put that as penultimate focus. I can only imagine there are like 40-50% of people under rank 500 with 50-1 kd's who lurk worhtlessly.

Kills, raids, hacks, all can be manufactured. Most everyone kills people softer than them. In most cases, MUCH softer. PA and some other legions have made a career of jack slapping lowbies over hacks and raping them blind. It's part of the game. But to turn a blind eye doens't make it less true.

I have been playing for nearly 3 years, then again I only play for about 15 mins a day. Cracked me up that a rank 2500 needs to badge by having legion members alert people 2200 ranks below them.













I have an entire comm full of rank 1200+ griefers trying so hard to talk smack. Whereas the FUNK (rank 2500) blocked my comms because he couldn't take it.
