Title says it all I think unique crew could be a good addition to the game. I don't really have a preference for how they would be implemented I just look at my ship crew and size panel and think what if Scotty was my chief engineer or what if Darth Vader lead my boarding actions or what if Neo helped my crew hack etc. I know that the allies are currently functioning in a manner similar to many of the possible ways this might work (unique abilities, stat boosts, no decks used, getting better over time, etc) but I still feel a satisfactory scheme could be devised to make them worthwhile and unique (without being op). Here are a few ideas for these crew Some of the mission NPCs could become crew (Mawks, Ravyn, Eralach, etc). Some crew could only be gotten by being a certain race or profession (e.g you might have to be a Zolazin sab in order to get a Zolazin master terrorist.) Some crew could be mutually exclusive from each other (they hate each other or you had to kill one). Some crew could have a very powerful bonus/ability, but they have a severe penalty as well (e.g maybe a 10% invasion bonus that kills 1500 helmsmen every time it is used {just an example}) One of the crew members could be the player character (as the captain) and would have its own stats (that could be improved/changed in various ways.) New modules that modify/amplify the crew bonuses(unique and otherwise) such as an Operations Room/Bridge or a barracks. Note that I don't think any crew should require them just be affected as otherwise it essentially make them have a deck requirement (and then they could just be called module add-ons). |
