halc bypass arti - battle market artifact
cost: 1 green badge, 3 red badges, 5 yellow badges, 10 blue badges effect: removes 1 hour from target's halcyon trap effect
(i thought about 3/5/5 for reds yellow and blues ... but figured that might be too clever for its own good ...)
medal Won't Take No For an Answer (10)
use 20 halc bypass artis on enemy ships
EDIT: halc boost arti - battle market artifact
cost: 3 red badges, 5 yellow badges, 5 blue badges (3/5/5 !) effect: adds 2 hours to existing halcyon trap effect on your ship

Interesting thought....IDK what its reception would be with the player base. I use halcs (get over it already-it's part of the game, deal with it) But I don't think this change would bother me a whole lot. Not to re-hash old topics.....but halcs aren't the problem, they are a symptom...... If this change were instituted, like I said I don't think it would bother me. It may alter how I play a bit, though..... We'd have to wait and see..... and, once again.....geesh can't seem to resist going there..... hardly "everyone" uses halcs. When I Pvp, I get 50 plus kills a day if I put my mind to it and hit halcs probably around 40-50% of the ships I attack some days. That's with me knowingly hitting 3,5,5s as well 'cause, you know, I can handle it and I'm not gonna cry like a little girl over a couple halcs here and there. Just to piss everyone off..... New medal...."Not on My Watch". Same costs as Sen's proposal..... Adds 1 hour to players own Halc time when used

I like both ideas. I say why not. If you can afford whatever going rate to increase or decrease timers...i say tallyho. I think decently priced artifacts to achieve each would not be overpowered or able to be overused. Could also limit how many could be used at once?

I was anticipating that they not be stackable, but if you make one stackable I think they both should be just to even things out. For the anti-halc army out there, please note that even the proposed arti that adds to halc time would require players to be active to at least some degree in Pvp and, thereby, would also have the effect of removing a few halced players from the invincible list in exchange for them being able to extend their halced time a little at a time of their choosing (within current halcing limits, of course).

+1 to it all. Both the increase and the decrease timers. Will come in handy for those pesky planet thieves for whom 24 hours just wasn't enough.
It's too expensive to use on the masses though, so Yllib you're still SOL there. I suspect the expense was the point though.

the expense to use it is exactly why i back this idea. You dont straight up bypass defensive measures, but you can alter them..that is strategic....the cost keeps it from being a run away deal breaker.....and on the extending time, heck yes...to stay halo'd longer would mean more time venturing into the open water amongst the fishes!!
so it would:
1) possibly increase pvp 2) add more options for all 3) add strategic value 4) not be so cheap that it can be done frequently
seems like a winner to me

I'd propose to change the item effect to :
Bypass any calming effect on target, for 5 min. Removable by cages. Removed when disabled.
That way, it never be overpowered : 1. It lasts only 5 min, and once you're disabled, there are no more ship can target you. 2. It is removable, meaning if you're online, you can avoid the annoyance of being disabled while online. 3. It never actually removes your calming effect. If you're disabled while you're online, you can still repair and continue NPCing without fearing getting disabled again.
