Exotic matter everywhere but not a drop to spare.

Seems like everyone could use more exotic matter. Used to just be more demand for exotic dancers, but times change.

What if we had an arti which, when placed, would cause all mining production from a planet to be harvested as EM? Perhaps at 20% of the planet's output. All other productions would remain the same. Optionally this could be a ship module with a cooldown to do similar function (in that case probably 100% converion to EM).

This could open up a mini storyline for a new chain as well. And perhaps even a daily at the end which allows the user to convert ku into em directly?

Thoughts, critiques, random ostrich comments?

Right now, EM is the only thing that makes mining production relevant. Thanks to artifact production, research continually grows and can be converted to credits. Just a handful of maxed out toxics, even with a 50% penalty, would make the current EM requirements meaningless. Dan put those high requirements in place specifically because no one gave 2 hoots about mining.

maybe if instead of converting minerals it converted AP to EM..... say it makes a planet stop producing AP and instead gives a 20% (of the total) to EM.... I can see that.

I can't see anyone actually doing that though. Who's going to give up AP for EM they can get from a couple mining planets?

I still think AP is way more important than em. I wouldn't convert ap to em.

However, there is a way to convert research to credits. What about a way to convert research to em? Perhaps using the new mini chain idea that gives you a new ability with a 40 hr cooldown. Converts all research currently available to em.

Perhaps a conversion rate of 200 research to 1 em? May need adjusting, but I think that's a fair trade off.

what if the research to credit ratio would change?

The idea was more aligned to one planet ...or usse on ONE planet. IE- it would take quite a while to get a structure on a decent # of planets. Plus you could make the mission restrictive enough that it wasn't op. I think it was read as a universal convert all my mining to em...that would be silly.

Look, if you want to circumvent Dan's push to revitalize mining production, I'll agree to +1 this idea if it's 2% of mining production per planet. No more.

I think increasing the amount of EM a mining planet produces is a fair way to fix the lack of EM issue.

there is NO EM shortage. just lots of players who are not willing to sacrifice a small part of their hourly arti production to get more mining production. well, that is your CHOICE. i think the re.balancing that Dan did to make EM more worthwhile has been a grand success, and i've been laughing all the way to the bank !

there is still plenty of EM sloshing about in the GTC. spend some of those credits already !

I like original idea of a structure that converts a % to EM. It's something different. We haven't seen that yet. I don't think that EM should be gained by research. Absolutely not.

just add another mission to the exotic chain:
http://galaxylegion.com/wiki/index.php/ ... Rank_85.29

rewards a ship mod with an ability (40 hour cooldown, 500 energy). receive 250 EM for every exotic lab you have built. receive an extra 750 EM for every exotic lab built on an exotic planet.

Senatorhung, difficult to do when so many people went AP and made the value of pullable artifacts tank, Back in the day having High ap=high income from the market now not so much. Try selling nano's/sheild amps/restoration/cloneing pods ect. they just do not bring in the revenue they used too.
