 some new buildings to make Runes/small moons better

Hi so it really sucks not getting Large Moons/Rings.

My thoughts why not get some new buildings that can be placed in planets that ONLY have Ruins/small moons.

Example

Exotic Ruins sweeper
Space 1
Artifact 1, artifact production 3%
Can only be placed on a planet with Ruins
Cost 1 Million EM, 100 Million CR
Max 2 per planet

Tiny Stealth satellite
Space 1
1 artifact Cloak +300 Cloak +5%
Can only be placed on a planet with moons if the planet has small moons the bonus doubles
Cost 1 million EM, 100 Million CR
Max 1 per planet (2 on small moon planets)

That first structure would make ruins the only thing I would want on any project planet. Even at 1 million EM a pop I would want it.

That was the point to try and shake things up alittle bit. a great cloak buidings and a good production building for the worse effects to help them shape up. The sweeper isn't really all that power at a combination of 2 space for 2 ap and 6% artifact, its only a touch better then a Legion mission production booster building, with the rareity of runes hardly going to break anyoens bank but will make people smile more when they get a "less favorable" outcome. The moon one is a nice 2:1 building with decent cloak for small moons and a decent cloak for large moons.

I like the idea, but -1 on the 1 million exotic matter cost.

For most people 1 Mil EM is several months worth of mineral production, and they need that for legion missions.

I certainly wouldn't spend 500 purgers worth of EM on either.


Plus, i don't want to get into the whole when the RT screws you over, you get screwed again on the costs to take advantage of SM's or Ruins.


No offence intended at all to the OP, but everyone needs to get over this issue of trying to fix the lesser improvements that the Reality Transfuser can grant.

Small Moons are intended to be the booby prize of the RT and Ruins aren't bad at all. They still grant +20% arti, who cares about the +20% min/res. The only thing you lose with Ruins over Rings is the +1 arti from a Polaron Emitter and the double boost from an Orbital Stabilizer(limited anyway, so not really an issue).

So i guess my point is, you don't create an amazing & expensive perk to getting the booby prize from a Reality Transfuser, you are meant to just grin and bear it, otherwise you will just have people complaining that you need to add an equal counter-balance for LM or Ring planets.

If however, you are intent on bringing new ideas to the table, a good way to start is to take a look at artifacts already in play, to see what has been done before....

e.g.

Polaron Emitter: If the planet has a Small Moon, Large Moons,
or Planetary Rings when this is built, this structure
gains +1 artifact and +1 mining.
Limit 1.

From that we can determine that the most Dan will do for your Small Moon worlds is grant an additional +1 arti/mining, and only once per planet. :)

I am always for more structures that only work to their full potential (or can only be placed) on certain types of planets. Adds flavor and strategy to planet building.

Personally, I'd either lower the sweeper to +1 artifact, 2% bonus, or limit them to one per planet. If you can tell anything from Serne's drooling, they may be a bit OP as is.

And 1 million EM per planet is just too expensive for anything but your very, very best planets -- you'd only be "making Ruins better" on a select few (if that) planets. As Kirk already pointed out, it's just too dang expensive.

The second one is cool, too -- I like the idea of a "moon base" structure, though again maybe slightly OP (maybe only allow the cloak % to kick in on small mooned planets?)...

+1, with reservations about possible OP bonuses and contingent on cost being reduced.
