Probably has been suggested, but here goes. It would be nice to have the option to hide ship components rather than having to scroll through them. There are a number of items that I don't use (currently), but won't scrap because they're not replaceable, or are mission tier rewards and I can't uninstall or scrap anyway. |

Being able to only see modules with scan, would be nice. Or just ones with cloak for example. |

I endorse this suggestion. Or even just putting the filter box from the artifacts into the ship modules. |

What would be really nice would be a 'save build' option.... so the game would store, say, your 3 most used module configurations. You could label them Scan, PvP, Hacking.. whatever... and once you got everything how you wanted you could just save it and later just click whichever one you wanted to use and it would auto-configure your ship for that build. It would be just like one of those car seats that remembers the precise shape of your butt... only better. |

The problem with this suggestion, as always, is the potential burden it can place on the game. I'd rather op for a import/export instead of save/load, it should be less burdening in that it doesn't need a DB. Of course, import will likely have to perform a number of checks to see if the code is valid so that takes some resource, so I'm not entirely sure if that's true. I'm not entirely sure how the game stores modules, it have to be a hash that can be used even if you sell then rebuy some modules(or upgrade or whatever) so that might be a bit complex. Either way(save/load or import/export), I'd consider this "premium" content in that it doesn't provide any benefit other than saving effort and it does place some strain on the server. If GL ever come out with premium account(GP subscription), this is one feature I'd expect. Alternatively, this can be a feature that is unlockable by GP and limit can be upgraded by GP. And yes, I do support the concept of premium accounts on the grounds that it does NOT affect game balance whatsoever, saves effort on the user end and consumes resources on the server end. Whoever wish to enjoy the benefit should pay for the extra core Dan might have to buy/lease to counteract the lag it generates. There could be other features in it, of course. For example, allowing you to hack/raid while in cd IF you have TM(and can still use them) and automatically use one if you do hack/raid in cd. And maybe some kind of mission auto thing.. I'm against auto-NPC because of auto ranking but mission is not as big of an issue(there is a limited amount of EM too so...) mission doesn't really hurt anybody. ==============SEPARATOR==================== Back to the OP thou, yes, I'd love a search/hide function. This, unlike save/load, shouldn't place much, if any, extra burden on the server. So this is always welcome(and free). |
