In the wake of this awesome economic update (with EM gains increased temporarily) I would like to see other mediums of trade experience the same effect:

Make an event where CTP gains are increased (deflating the value of CTP, makes Credits and EM more valueable)

or

Make an event where Kurenite/Aidonium gains are increased (deflating the value of Credits, makes CTP and EM more valueable)

Wasn't there already an event that temporarily took Kur and aid production away for a short spell, was it when the Mylarai first came out?

These new global events could be setting a precedent where all the other seasonal events (Scruuge, Bane, etc) have other global events. Maybe CTP or mineral production could change in those...?

Correct, I believe that was the only galaxy wide event. Closest second was voting in chains.

you would think this would make EM lower in value but I have seen nothing to suggest this, it seems people are just happy getting more and not letting the price drop.....

I don't see why this would affect the value of EM at all. This is not like a natural economic shift, it is a set period with a known increase. If the value were to decrease, people would stop selling it (knowing that the normal market will return in just a few weeks). When people stop selling, value goes UP. It all just balances itself out. The only thing you might find is a low rank who has no idea what to do with EM that suddenly had heaps and you might find a bargain.

Greater supply to an already high demand. The change will only tip the values slightly for a few weeks (for those that would want to profit off the temporary shift).

The basics of economics still apply to mediums of trade within Galaxy Legion, even if it is for a brief period.

As long as trade groups are still active, EM will be sold. And with an increased supply you will see LESS buyers only because more of EM is in stock. (Law of Demand) Thus, in order to make any profit at all (and balance the market), sellers will sell EM at lower prices.

You mean swindling which is already kinda being done in almost any game that allows trading?

I like the idea of adding more environmental effects to the game, but I think it might be more interesting if it weren't solely structured around game economics. Perhaps something related to research that made data discs temporarily grant more RP or made PDOs more effective if used on certain planet types?

I think it would also be important to have effects issued in groups as they were for this event, with some negative aspects to whatever galactic event was going on.
