Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a little obsessive compulsive, but it really irritates me that because allies start at level 1, when they reach their maximum level their stats are no longer round numbers. This is simply because the number of levels gained between 1 and 10 is not 10, but 9.
Therefore I propose that allies start at level 0 instead of 1. This way, after they have gained 10 levels they are level 10, not 11, and there are a total of 100 levels to gain, not 99.
It means that allies will have slightly more potential power because they will be able to earn an additional level, but you'll still have to earn that extra level, and you'll need an extra level for each tier bonus.

This is a maybe a good idea on paper, but with Dan math, nothing ends up being a nice round number anyway

I don't know... Dan math can work out sometimes. See my other post on enemy stat formulae: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=40390
