A new levl to pvp would be that one can equip special modules or use boosts to do different kinds of damage such as fire, kinetic, acid, ect and depending on a ships other equiped modules that could have more defence against a certain type of damage.

space negates most energy forms....mass, speed, and energy output are really the only astrophysics that are prevelant....fire doesnt work without air...water is immensely difficult to get to a speed that is useful anywhere over several yards...so on and so forth.

But there could be an ice spear, quantum compacted to obscene levels and fired out of a torpedo tube, that could rip right through armor. +1 if it explodes into a giant ice crystal on impact!

lol. i dunno. some space orcs might raid us while we're there. good thing im escorting some space elves! i do like the idea of elemental damage, but not in the warcraft sense. it would have to be the plasma and dark energy and stuff previously stated.

This reminds me of a scifi weapon I made in the Galaxy Pub. Called a "Claymore" it was a quantum-induced beam of plasma that could be manipulated like a giant sword through space.

Well what if there were different kinds of weapons? Like kinetic weapons are more effective at damaging hull than shields. Plasma is better at damaging shields. Ionic weapons are better at damaging shields, etc. Then different kinds of shields and armor could be procured to prevent this.

Reminds me of the scifi MMO "Pardus", where they had 3 types of cannons and armor: conventional, biological, and electromagnetic.
