How about allowing Us to make our own ranks? We name them and give each one certain rights. It would require a change to the promote button to a pop menu but It would be better.

I am getting positive feed back. This would allow us to have people set to do one thing. Also, It would allow for more ranks. Please comment if you disagree

There is really no benefit to it, just a bunch of programing work for no real benefit to play. I would rather see updates that made game play better instead of something that would just feed egos.

I see. but, think about this, a lot of people want things added like Leader chat which would allow for two leaders to privately talk. They also want "Diplomat" rank for this. I personally would not want a diplomat (if it gets added) to manage my legion. This idea is if more abilities are added. A lot of "Clan" based games do this. I also thought of another legion feature that will be called stupid. I will post it as soon as this one gets bashed to bits ;p

OK Elite Dragons, then if you DONT want the ships to look pretty, or the positions to be customizable, what are your ideas for the game? its really easy to shoot down someone elses idea, but you dont really have a right unless you are proposing ideas as well. otherwise nothing will get done, because you people dont like the ideas proposed, and you people dissing the ideas arnt coming up with their own. Post some ideas YOU would like implimented into the game, JUST so we can see what YOU deem acceptable.

I'm sure that ED doesn't need me or anyone else to defend him, but here goes... I have read several ideas/suggestions from ED. Perhaps not as an original post, but he does chime in and contribute to many discussions. If an idea merits a positive reaction from him, you will get it. If it merits getting flamed, you will get it.

I may be fairly new to the forums myself as a poster, but I've been playing this game for 6 months or so and have been following the forums since I started. You do realize that this game is FREE? You've got a very small percentage of the players that actually contribute financially to support GL. This isn't some high-end 29.99/month mmo, it's a Facebook game. The developers need to focus their resources (financial AND intellectual) on fixing what is bad and improving what is good. They don't have the time nor the money to create the massive amounts of coding involved in ideas like this one.


An idea was brought up, and was countered by a differing opinion (by invitation I will point out). If you want to show support for an idea, back it up with reasonable, sensible, and logical arguments. "Wouldn't it be cool if..." does not fall into any of those categories. Be realistic in your expectations, the development team is doing an awesome job constantly updating and improving this game. If you can't appreciate that, and would prefer uber-customization, (can't believe I'm going to say this) go play PETVILLE.

ah, but the name of this forum is suggestions and ideas, and while i realize my ideas would involve a lot of work and will probably never happen, they are still ideas. AND the only reaction i have gotten from ED is "oohh noo... that would be too hard... id rather them do something new with a current feature..." my question is, WHAT would they like them to do with a current feature... as i said. its easy to bash others ideas, but to do so they need to come up with some of their own. otherwise the game will NEVER get anything new, and you can only optimize a feature so much before you start making it worse. My words were more of a 'hey, stop commenting and post something' call, not a 'you have no right to talk here' call.

Not the impression that comes across... You've only been here 48 hours. Don't be an assclown by calling out someone for disagreeing with somebody else's post. Hell, it wasn't even your OP... You have any idea how many customize this or customize that threads get posted in a forum like this? The simple fact is that there are more important things for the developers to worry about than pimping your frigate.

Vekno, if you looked at posts and seen ideas that have been worked on you will see ideas that I have agreed with. Some of them will be rather difficult for Dan to create but will actually do things to enhance game play. I have also posted a few original ideas in the past that others have disagreed with. I expect people to disagree we do not all think the same. The OP here asked for an opposing idea no one had given one of the people who did not like the idea so I presented it simply and politely. I do not think customizable legion ranks will do the game any good. The diplomat the OP had said has also been in past posts and I think could be a workable idea. But ideas that I see have no affect on the game play I will say I disagree with as I would rather have Dan work on ideas such as the legion star bases, upgrades to inter-legion communication, and the war mode idea. Now because I didn't like your oh let me make my star ship pretty idea you want to attack my opinions, that's your right, but it makes you look very childish to others here. An attitude like that may make you more enemies than friends. Just accept not everyone will agree with your ideas and move on. This is as far as this need to go here, don't high jack a thread just to talk smack.

Look, this forum is not called "Flaming 101" It is called wait wait don't tell me SUGGESTIONS & ideas 70% of everyone agrees that the legion thing needs work. It is horrible that it is so primitive (for lack of a better word) The game is called Galaxy LEGION L-E-G-I-O-N Yet, the L337s (or whatever you people call your selves) do not care about ideas to improve the teamwork. It is all "New artifact! Something extra with newer features!" Heck, Change the name to "Galaxy Loner" My legion is doing nothing because we are not fighting someone else.

Do you know why they are 30/month? because they have a huge team working on them. Think about all those people working on it. Accepting ideas and molding them to fit the game. if all of them have a 3 person family then they need the money. Daniel, nobody is flaming your idea here. Elite took you up on your invitation to disagree, that's all. I quoted you in my previous post to point that out to Vekno. His little tirade at Elite was uncalled for. For a level 100+, I would think he would have sense enough to not piss people off in this game. In 2 days, he has managed to make it onto the Most Annoying Poster thread over in the Pub.

As far as the original idea goes, I have to agree with Elite on this. I don't see the benefit. There are 3 ranks now, and they are clearly defined within the game structure as to what they can and cannot do. I just can't see any need to revamp this system (with the possible exception of the diplomat/ambassador idea). The Super Legions use this system and it worked for them. How do you think they became Super Legions? They used the rank structure and ORGANIZED within themselves and followed through with their goals and plans. Why completely change something that works just fine for everybody? Just to pimp your ship or call yourself Exalted Grand Master so-and-so? Nah, don't need it. That's all i have to say about it.

No, I guess i didn't make myself clear enough then. ^ i clearly say what this is for. If a lot of ideas get added then this will be needed. I can see what you mean but this is a small part of the big picture if you will. Traders, bases, amazingly large team bosses, If they don't get added this doesn't need to be either.
