How about this...Have a 5 x 5 grid that you would have to pick from (like flipping cards) with various rewards and include a cube or two among other rewards. Make it into RP picture of scanning or some similar sci fi esque image. Each grid would contain the same, balanced daily rewards everyday, but placed randomly. After the pick, all "cards" would flip up showing you where the goodies were. So the chance aspect will be based on YOU! No hassle, no paranoia. Btw, I think we ought to have a bit more varied daily reward. Any ideas? Here is a little (Bad) Example of the grid before you make a decision... (sorry about using paint:) ![]() (oh and the "?" graphics I googled for a quick example) *edit. Merged the later post together |

If this makes it, One idea I think would be neat is to have a "mine" on the D.R. field. If you step on the mine it will take half of your current hull! :O |

Another idea for the DR grid that it would add an extra npc to battle tab temporarily. Rare or elite... |

I agree that if we make the random daily reward into a "galaxy scan" similar to the daily reward setup of Kingdoms of Camelot (not the actual rewards, just the layout) then people will complain less when they see it was just a bad choice of sector to scan. And to the previous post: it would have to be hard to get. And the post before that: that has a lot of potential to become unbalanced, as higher levels get thousands of lost credits, and players could make a shield-heavy build to compensate. |

After you click one, the item gets highlighted and/or will glow (im thinking the "G" blue glow:). Then the rest of the grid shows where the rest on unpicked items were to show you you made a good/bad choice and its not the system... Add nice sci fi graphics to it, and we can then rename "daily reward" into "daily scan" ![]() |

I don't think it should be a grid of cards. I think it should have more of a sci-fi look to it than a flash game you play on the internet. Make it an actual grid with the background of the galaxy. When you click one spot on the grid a blue line "scans" over it and the whole spot glows red for credits blue for anything else. Afterwards it shows what was found in blue lettering above the grid on a greenish-black computer like screen and all other spots glow depending on what was in them. I dont know how to upload images so I cant show you what I have in mind. |

That sounds perfect. I may only have paint but I think I can reproduce that. |

Well. the image I posted is a cheap example in case someone does not understand what I mean. Ofcourse there are ways to make is "sci fi" and pretty" ![]() And to my opinion daily scans or exploration adds to the realism of GL (space game of "battleships" anyone?:) |

Oh and Zophah, thats the whole point of "hull" not shields. The top players might lose alot, but thats adds spice to the Daily scans. Getting a good reward tastes better if there is a risk involved anyways ![]() |

You all do realize your discussing playing a game, on a game, right? Just thought I should point this out. |

about this, if anyone on here has played vampire wars they had a system exactly like this, except it wasnt a 5x5 grid. there was 3 cards, u pick one, u get what u pick and it shows u what u could have gotten so u feel like a #$&*$# for not picking the OTHER card. ![]() |

Yeah, make it pretty and it will be its own fun too! Id actually would look forward to clicking and to see what I can scan down that day. Hoping I would not hit that mine. Maybe encountering a special foe? Or a random player? A planet even? Hmm... >:D If the idea of having more and a bit spicier results, it might be better to add a few clicks instead of one and expand the map. 10x10 perhaps? Haha... "minesweeper" |
