People are opening browser tabs and leaving open a window with someone else's ship in it in order to get around the 2 day limit on the newsfeed. Maybe if these windows would close themselves after a certain number of hours, this could be prevented.

how are you aware of this tactic? you are right tho it should time out like alert for planets do and dissapear with the autorefresh it does sometimes

I didn't attack anyone for more than a week and the same person twice my level was still pounding away. The battle tab only shows people that are 60-140% of your level and it wasn't from guarding a planet.

Sometimes the only thing that can save you is a windows update.

edit: Like Microsoft Windows, because they reboot. I suppose a GL windows update might do it too
