It would be great if Dan would create a scan app allowing us to plug in scanners/sensors/buffs/# of planets in our DB/etc and give us back what % chance we have of finding something. As a ship captain, if I know that 'my scanning power is not good enough to find any planets', there would be a way to guesstimate what my percent chance is. It is really just some math formula. I wouldn't even mind just seeing the formula, someone will be able to put it in an excel sheet.
I don't want to sell a bunch of stuff and spend 285,000,000 credits + 285 Dysillon to add 5x Tachyon Sensor - Mark III, then use buffs (Stryll Seeker, Tachyon Cylinder and Subspace Seeker) to find out that I have a 7% chance of finding a planet.
I feel there is something wrong with the current way things work around this.

Heck, it could be as simple as putting in your 'estimated scan power' into a box, the site already knows how many planets you have and it could give you back the percent chance.
Yes, you'd have to create the 'estimated scan power' yourself but it isn't that hard to add scanner category + buffs/etc.
