 Stop cumulating Flares on a ship please

Hello,

I really find it stupid you can cumulate flares on an enemy Ship. It makes all the research and the space invested in Scanning tech useless.

This is why most of the top lvl players have little scan ... Anyone can hack anyone by throwing 2 or 3 flares eventually to a ship.

It reminds me the time when sphere and disarming bombs were at 50% and obelisks at 50% as well. At the time you fixed it to make the battles more fair. Well then please do it as well for the hacking!

i say no way. it will only further imbalance the game and make the powerful more powerful. some players would become invincible. so to that i say hell no.

Alright then put back the spheres at 50% and make them possible to cumulate. That's exactly how it ruins the game and the tech advance I have.

This artifact is the only one you can send several times on a ship. This is ridiculous.

i actually agree. they should not stack. or at least not stack from one player.....if it was more than one player shooting it then yes stack them so its a group effort but it is crazy and i agree that having high lv scaners is pointless for that purpose.

this makes attacking a high level possible, but dont think for a second that the low level can win. the low level has to use 4 or more to be able to hack a ship with tons of scan. how many times can the lower level do this before they run out of artifacts? its one of the only ways to level the playing field just for a while.

Well you have one of two options.

1. upgrade your own tech so you can take them.

or...

2. Don't attack players that much higher than you in rank.

I would go with two by the way. If someone was to throw three or four flares on me just to hack me I think I would destroy them several times over. Sorry but thats the way it is. You should not attack someone that much higher than you unless you want to die. You think those high ranking players really care about a couple hundred artifact points, I know I don't, it's just the concept that a low ranking player hacked you and used X amount of artifacts on your ship.

I too agree that flares should not stack on any one ship.

to tell the truth... it is a bit ridiculous. i hit a firewall trap on the first hack and used a method i wont disclose to get some hack points back. then used a bunch of flairs to get his scan below my cloak. he started at 2000+ scan and ended up with less than 20. it took 7 (but it would have worked with 6) i guestemated how many and just used them. then used some time manipulators to exploit the 15 min window. the ship in question got maxed on hacks very quickly. the ship just happened to be 400+ and over 2x my level. and no, i have not learned my lesson from attacking high levels lately...

There are big 5 scanners.
There are 2 small panels and 2 medium jammers.

If Dan un-stack the flares and a big ship (what eventually many will become) installs 5 scanners,
then no one else would be able to hack that ship, not even much bigger ships and what not.
It would make little sense. :roll:

Wow, you live in a different world. Flares, disarming bombs and EMP spheres will go the way of the crimson obelisk if this happens. I'd rather the useless crap in my cargo not be totally totally useless.

well if thats your issue than maby they need one that does 75% or 85% by compleating a quest to make the artifact kinda like the mine artifact. but stacking them is not the way they should work.... in that case all artifacts should stack then. lets just boost my atk over and over wiht a crimson artifact, and dubl my sheild over and over with the 100% shield boost for a day. same consept.

think about it this way... there has to be a really good reason to attack up 200+ levels or so. in MOST cases the higher level will attack 1st. if this is reduced, it will limit the amount of options for RETALIATION. i don't think many will voluntarily just start attacking the few highest ranking players in the game. using alot of artifacts may work for a while, but its not sustainable. eventually the supply will run out and they wont be able to do that any more.

THIS IS precisely the point ...

I have researched max Scan tech. I have 5 max tech scan installed on my ship ... That's 440 Decks used, over 1M research points, approx 1B creds investment and around 350M creds normal upkeep.

All this investment can be destroyed by ... a flare and 5 Energy or double this eventually ...

My ship is weaker in battle than the others because I put scans and cloak on it. And I get almost no reward for that cause I can still be mass hacked anytime even by a single players using time manipulators.

So what? I should do like the others?? put 1 scan up and little cloak and mass weapons + def + hull ??

I respect your desire of individuality and uniqueness, but I believe the extent of one's individuality must lie in the boundary of the given system one belongs in. Changing the system to make others play like you is not a viable alternative, not to mention that others are equally qualified to say "So what? I should play like Zhorgul?" as well. There might be better alternatives other people agree on that can be implemented, but the responsibility of finding and suggesting those better alternatives lies on those who need those alternatives. :)

So basically I'm stupid researching the max scan tech and install 5 of them on my ship. I'm wasting 440 Decks and money for nothing.

I'm saying this is a game design flow.

The simpler solution would be to get rid of hacking entirely.
make a real map instead
