ok, I have no idea how possible this even is. After every scan blitz I roll through my planet list, highlighting the data and copy/pasting it into a spreadsheet that then strips the columns apart, cleans up the formatting does some math on size and availability and gives me a sortable list. This way I can quickly find the highest output artifact planets and tell if they are enemy or unoccupied. (Yeah I'm a numbers geek, so what?) Right now I have just under 200 planets so I copy/paste 20 times. I can easily see this becoming a nightmare as I climb in level. I don't know how other players deal with it.

It would be nice if we could get a simple list of planets, without the pretty planet graphics and maybe at more then 10 per screen. This would let us do our own record keeping...

Otherwise the planet page really needs some updating. Honestly it's nice to know something is "Very Abundant" on a size "Large" but we need a way to compare that to an "Average" on a "Massive". It way to painful to go through the list every 4 levels looking for the best combination to colonize.

Thanks for listening.

Clicking on the "BEST RESOURCE COLUMN" will arrange the planet depending on how rich they are. I usually colonize the richest planet that I have in my scan depending on the resource that I need. Chances are the you have lots of MINING PLANET. I just look for the next richest reseach/artifact planet that I can see. now if you have 2 planets with the same kind of resources.. chose one with a bigger size.. Or if your the spending type... Colonize the planet with the resources that you want and then change the size of the planet.. :) but that entails $$$

In general, it would be nice to pull a csv or something of the sort for your planets. I know that I use to spend a lot of time trying to figure out where to put my next spy uplink but I've put everything in excel and now it is a 'simple' sort. It would be much easier if we could DL this all in one shot.

You guys have some insane systems. Mine is simple and repetitive. Terraform the largest planet with full chassis and even-ish resources untill one hits 15x. Enlarge the planet with the best resource until it is very massive. Put chassis on the best planet where they aren't for that chassis' resource. That is a pain, but I am essentially spamming chassis now, so it doesn't matter if I am incredibly careful, it just feels wrong to rip down the +8 buildings I am still putting up to install crappy cloaking sattelites though, so I essentially don't.

Settling happens so rarely that it is usually an obvious choice. I'm more keen on keeping a spot open really. I think the next in line for invasion belongs to a really good GL friend who happened to join a legion with 5 dedicated multi's for scanning planets. I'm going to be an indian giver and hopefully not feel too bad about it.

Finding the next planet on your list to colonize is generally not difficult but maintaining records of your colonized planet however is a more tedious task. I personally don't find it necessary to copy information for all the discovered planets, just the planets that I've colonized.

I think you misunderstood the thread topic.

There is only one correct system and saving your sanity will only lose you paltry amounts of actual resources, the choice is clear to me. The only hard part to me is exempting certain planets from a chassis that only uses a sparse resource. I may as well work from the bottom up, then do a final sweep before I am done with chassis forever besides the ones that clog my inventory. There are only so many ways you can organize planets (A LOT) and there have been half a million requests for new ones. I just think half these people with "systems" are loony. Memory helped early on, now 10 AP an hour for maybe a day is 240 AP and isn't worth 15 minutes of grieving. There are only so many ways you can interface a database of less than 500. These are the same problems people might have with an OS with millions of man-hours invested already. There are MUCH more pressing interface issues. The GD thing jumps tabs every time a window opens and close it.

The original topic isn't about resource management but anyways ...
How do you know there is only one correct system when you don't even know what other systems might be? With the help of a simple spreadsheet repetitive clicking on planets is illiminated. Also, your 10AP an hour is 24K AP for 10 planets in 10 days and it doesn't take even 5 minutes to manage them.
