you seem to care far too much about what happens to you and your legion for someone that keeps saying they don't really care

maybe you should consider quitting, i mean it can't be good for your health to get so riled up at your age

where is your walker btw... didya know you have played this game a year longer than i have? and i'm in the top 10 for rank, battles & hacks, and on the leaderboard for kills......

funny i didn't see ya on there, especially given your time played, figured you would at least be on one of the leaderboards

because... i have a life a family a job and commitments.. hell my kids play this more than i do... and being all that is not a recipe for success.. you all quote my legion gives new players all they need... do you wipe their arses for them .... do you even remeber when you had to scrape and save for the upkeep for your ship, by teaching people to take what theyre given and do nothing for themselves is putting them into a reliance on you.. ive been there behind the scenes battling to teach people to play within their means, do things for themselves, yes ive given them the odd hand up, but at least ive taught them that they don't need to rely on their legion to survive. if you force feed all these newbies with your rubbish..... they will never learn to surpass you, many of my students have surpassed me many times over and i'mm proud. so what i'm not at the forefront ramming rubbish down their throats and keeping them thankful for it... i teach them to stand on their own two feet and think for themselves , not become an eots robot.. who gives all he gets to his masters and spouts out all the rubbish in teh same way over and over again....
no i won't quit doing what i a m doing, i'm just getting tired of seeing elss and less free thinkers ... and seeing mroe and more get rich quick kids who claim theyre the be all and end all cos they were given all they have got and have not worked a day in their lives cos they need to spend 12 hrs a day playing a computer game, and can't have a life.

yes i do remember those days, i actually didn't join a legion until i was rank 67, not that you would know that

i never had an issue with upkeep, because i'm not a moron that installs every $%&% thing they can, i understand the means of financial matters, unlike the fecal matter in your legion who call themselves officers and leaders.... 5 builders really? tell those idiots to sell of their heavy qse's and their best defense gear for some cheaper but just as efficient gear and they maybe they can all change to fixer to set a good example, or switch to an actual profession that is at least beneficial in some manner.

how have you taught them to survive on their own? your own legionmate posted that the bases dying is affecting their legions ability to grow and cited bases dying as a premier factor of legions disbanding.

how can legions disbanding over base disables be a sign that people can bring in their own arti/mineral/research?

here at eots we do a lot more than you ever will for this game in your legion of 30, we teach players how to make their own planets whilst giving them a leg up - we teach them how to protect their planets so they can't be stolen by someone who has played for 2 weeks

you're so good at this game that your Stormkyn Alliance leadership stuck you in their shittiest sub legion just so they wouldn't have to deal with you teaching your ways to their new recruits

how does it feel to know that someone who has played this game for a year less than you has a ship with the same strength as everyone in your legion combined... and has more hull on their ship than your base does?

If you were to reset this game, 99% of players that have ever spent cash on it would quit, straight up, because the choice is out of their hands, and as such it's like buying a game(or into one) and then having to return that game whenever the seller asks, with no refunds on the DLC purchased or the original purchase itself.

There is a difference between:

1) taking someone in, watching them so they dont quit, but letting them handle themselves and learn from their mistakes, then explain why if they dont understand how its wrong. This is what you seem to be doing.

2) Giving newbies all the shiny toys without teaching them how to use them and just let them suck stuff up without really understanding the game. This is what you seem to be claiming EotS does to new members.

3) Giving newbies shiny toys to show the possible rewards that can be reaped in the game, teaching them how to make stuff like that on their own and passing on the knowledge on the fastest way to get there. Stop them from making mistakes if possible and give experience advice to prove why. This is what EotS (and any competitive legion) does and what you don't seem to get.

Right why do i say this:
1. We have a system where :
planets have become few and far between
top 500 players control 90% of the best planets and 25% of these are now invincible because of new legion mission content that is encouraging legions to stick together, and not help new players who have 0 chance of keeping a new planet that they do find.

the planet count was just doubled in the last couple of months. If you can't find any "decent" planets then that is why, not because they are all controlled by the top 500 players. I know I have never found a "decent" which was unoccupied with over 30k scans. I've made the vast majority of my decent planets. You can too if you NPC alot.

2.. With tips and tricks players ships have been blown way out of proportion with no ship lvl caps.
yes they have put the time and effort in and lots of money in some cases. but how can a new player ever compete.

New players aren't meant to compete with the likes of those in the top. Which is why those in the top can't see them. However they can help them achieve a better ship with all they have learned in the years they have played.

Quote:
3. trainee system is meant to invite those new players - yet there is no incentive for them to stay as they will never be able to compete with the largest players ever the gap is just too wide,

See above. New players aren't meant to compete with the top players. No game is like that.

Quote:
4. new content has to be continually developed to keep the big players interested. and is overwhelming the new players.

I have always found it amusing to see new players whine about trying to participate in content meant for higher rank players. That content is difficult for a reason. New players should stick with the content they have just like we had when we started.

Quote:
My ship name is Divine and I am at the forefront of helping new players, i'm playing this game to help them not for my own personal glory, and this is the feedback i've been getting in over 5 years of playing.

yes ive taken time out for life and my job and i don't play to win.. so yes my ship is average. but i play to help otehrs and have seen many come and go including many of teh top legions with whom i have been friends... some play to win and won't cotemplate --- teh game is important--- it has to be to keep playing it.

But there comes a point where, its necesary to do this.

My proposition is this call a winner or group of winners give them a reward to take past reset to get them a start.in teh new realm.

reset the game details everyoen starts at lvl 1 and experiences all teh new content from the start.

I've seen games do this. Every time they do they end up with about 20 percent of their old player base. Nearly all of the older players would either become very powerful when the newly reset game started or would just quit.

Quote:
this will alleviate the need to constant bring in new content and give teh developers dan a new stream . of new players who will stay.

there is plenty of content for lower ranked players. If anything there needs to be more content for the higher ranked players as they more and more frequently exceed 2k.

Quote:
add in player lvl caps so that cooperative play is necesary.

what is the point of a player cap? if a player gets tired of where they are they can reset.

Quote:
those that care for teh game and the player base as a whole will welcome this yes there will be a few who will quit.... but its not much better than losing 50% more from inaction.. maybe also reset all bans... and actuvely elect a player council to oversee teh running and help out.

i don't nominate myself for this ist teh playerbase who should nominate.
your thoughts appreciated--- no flames just constructive arguments. for and against----

People quite for all kinds of reasons. But you can just about guarantee a 50 percent or more loss from a reset of the game. More players come from people helping the new ones out. Which I believe that the vast majority of those who participate in the chat have get lots of help. It is how to get them to participate in the chat so that they can learn how to play. If you have been helping then you would know this.

I can assure you that I wouldn't be back if I were forced to reset and I consider myself a really active player who just "learned" how to play in the last year and half. I have done quite a bit to help others understand what I have come to realize. But you just can't beat a dead horse. They have to want to learn and play. If not, they become inactive and quit.

A game reset is a really bad idea.
