Right why do i say this:
1. We have a system where :
planets have become few and far between
top 500 players control 90% of the best planets and 25% of these are now invincible because of new legion mission content that is encouraging legions to stick together, and not help new players who have 0 chance of keeping a new planet that they do find.
the planet count was just doubled in the last couple of months. If you can't find any "decent" planets then that is why, not because they are all controlled by the top 500 players. I know I have never found a "decent" which was unoccupied with over 30k scans. I've made the vast majority of my decent planets. You can too if you NPC alot.

2.. With tips and tricks players ships have been blown way out of proportion with no ship lvl caps.
yes they have put the time and effort in and lots of money in some cases. but how can a new player ever compete.
New players aren't meant to compete with the likes of those in the top. Which is why those in the top can't see them. However they can help them achieve a better ship with all they have learned in the years they have played.

3. trainee system is meant to invite those new players - yet there is no incentive for them to stay as they will never be able to compete with the largest players ever the gap is just too wide,
See above. New players aren't meant to compete with the top players. No game is like that.

4. new content has to be continually developed to keep the big players interested. and is overwhelming the new players.
I have always found it amusing to see new players whine about trying to participate in content meant for higher rank players. That content is difficult for a reason. New players should stick with the content they have just like we had when we started.

My ship name is Divine and I am at the forefront of helping new players, i'm playing this game to help them not for my own personal glory, and this is the feedback i've been getting in over 5 years of playing.
yes ive taken time out for life and my job and i don't play to win.. so yes my ship is average. but i play to help otehrs and have seen many come and go including many of teh top legions with whom i have been friends... some play to win and won't cotemplate --- teh game is important--- it has to be to keep playing it.
But there comes a point where, its necesary to do this.
My proposition is this call a winner or group of winners give them a reward to take past reset to get them a start.in teh new realm.
reset the game details everyoen starts at lvl 1 and experiences all teh new content from the start.
I've seen games do this. Every time they do they end up with about 20 percent of their old player base. Nearly all of the older players would either become very powerful when the newly reset game started or would just quit.

this will alleviate the need to constant bring in new content and give teh developers dan a new stream . of new players who will stay.
there is plenty of content for lower ranked players. If anything there needs to be more content for the higher ranked players as they more and more frequently exceed 2k.

add in player lvl caps so that cooperative play is necesary.
what is the point of a player cap? if a player gets tired of where they are they can reset.

those that care for teh game and the player base as a whole will welcome this yes there will be a few who will quit.... but its not much better than losing 50% more from inaction.. maybe also reset all bans... and actuvely elect a player council to oversee teh running and help out.
i don't nominate myself for this ist teh playerbase who should nominate.
your thoughts appreciated--- no flames just constructive arguments. for and against----
People quite for all kinds of reasons. But you can just about guarantee a 50 percent or more loss from a reset of the game. More players come from people helping the new ones out. Which I believe that the vast majority of those who participate in the chat have get lots of help. It is how to get them to participate in the chat so that they can learn how to play. If you have been helping then you would know this.
I can assure you that I wouldn't be back if I were forced to reset and I consider myself a really active player who just "learned" how to play in the last year and half. I have done quite a bit to help others understand what I have come to realize. But you just can't beat a dead horse. They have to want to learn and play. If not, they become inactive and quit.
A game reset is a really bad idea.
