Dear Dan, I was slightly buzzed tonight... OK totally drunk. But I tried to share a planet for defense; it started with "Zeta", but it was wrong one! This isn't the issue though to be honest. Really, I dont know HOW I shared it. I had already shared it for defense (more than 12 hours ago) but the descriptions for sharing didn't seem to make sense. I'm assuming none of them are "invade planet", but it really seemed to be prefixes of what they should be. It most likely defaulted to the one on top, though there were 6 or so options. I could see the "help build" ones but some didn't seem to say anything of consequence. In my state I honestly didn't see "help defend". Then I let it default and I shared it anyways because I'm drunk and the other zeta reeeally needed to be defended quickly.
I guess, in other words, there are indescript sharing options and I hope to god people can't invade the planet I just shared.
Don't drink kids.

if you shared one of YOUR planets to your ALLIES... then no they can't invade it.... sharing only goes to allies or legion members
all i have to say is that if your going to share a planet please share one that is actually worth it.. chances are if you don't want the planet and that's why your sharing it.. noone else wants it either.... so share something you WOULD colonize but just have extra of.. remember you are sharing with your allies so it helps you in a sense too... i'm tired of very tiny very sparse planets being mass shared when noone wants them

They were both extremely rich gaseous planets starting with "zeta", one was very large and the other was very massive. I got one, one day before the other and I shared the wrong one and I ended up losing the very massive one out of sheer stupidity. I accidentally shared the one I had already fluxxed. I used/scrapped every module and artifact I owned for the credits and spent 5 gp to abandon another colony to make it possible. It had zero defense before I invaded. I totally forgot I still had an aegis I could have used.
Somehow it's still visible as a share even though it was settled for 6 or so hours, though I did get a flux message. The original share should be expired so I think I am seeing my own share... or something

err, I shared the wrong one so I don't understand why I am seeing a share from 17 hours ago as a share that I invaded, settled, lost... then it was most likely fluxxed, although I am aware you can't flux a share... I think shares are 24 hours when I thought they were 12. I think I answered my own question here. But honestly, the share options could be polished up in terms of what options are available, and not just because I want something legitimate to cry about.
non-issue related:
I can't reshare it, but if you, cloesdaddy, want to take over a heavily defended very massive extremely rich research planet. It was called "Zeta Tauri I" from tom yen about 17 hours ago, taken from me by Bender after I stole it from a "help weaken, don't invade" message. I can somewhat legitimize this behgavior. I warped a guy away, virused it and got it to <10 population within 3 minutes of the share and it had zero defense.... sent the guy multiple comms and 7 hours later, I couldn't stop dreuling so I took it. I don't even know what message was attached to the V large other zeta planet I shared was, but that is a different one... though I'm glad nobody can invade it.

well since I put this in the ideas and suggestions forum I better come up with an idea or suggestion... How about we can attach a VERY brief message to shares... It should probably cost a fair bit of energy since even comms take 5 energy. This would also cut down on crap planets being shared. The 'limit' or whatever you call it that makes it so you can't unfriend someone and jack their planets on a "help defend" share makes it so there are really only two kinds of shares. non-issue related: Cloesdaddy wrote: well.. it's occupied by bender right now who is my ally so it's a no go for me to take it You know, in this case, I think you actually CAN unfriend him and take it. I did something mean, he did something mean... join the fun

nope... IF he shared it to me when he's my ally... then soon as i unfriend him i can no longer see it... i've tested this because someone has shared a VERY good planet with me and i unfriended him to see if i could take it... and i could no longer see it.... i was trying to screw anyone.. the owner of it doesn't look like he plays anymore since really low level and someone else shared
