Can you add a way to use this for something else. Even with quests, I still bring in way more of this stuff then I can spend on quests. I'm at a little over 8k of this stuff and short of dumping it on some newbie, I can't do anything with it. I had a few ideas, but nothing really thought out.

1) Have some kind of exchange that uses exotic matter. Unique ship items or planet structures, or even weak artifacts.
2) Use 1000 of them to dump a planet off your scanned list.
3) Have a secondary ship item that is slight better then the original but uses exotic matter to be installed
- What I mean is lets say you have cannon xxx and it does 20 damage, there is a canon xxx (exotic) that does 25 damage.
4) Use exotic matter to expand your planet, keeping in mind that it is unstable and could shrink your planet, and in rare cases even cause it to warp the planet out of your scan range making you lose a colonized planet altogether.
5) Use them for currency in some kind of Galactic Casino, have like several games of chance in which you can win money, minerals, planets, and even rare items.
6) Use them to charge a one time weapon for some kind of powerful blast, the more you use, the bigger the bang.
7) Convert it directly to research points, with something like a 1 to 5 ratio (1 matter for 5 research points)

These are just ideas, and I know some are a little out there, and I'm sure this was talked about before, but when I searched for exotic matter, the search wouldn't pull anything up for me.

you probably mine too much ;)

or you just don't have much planets defense situation, hence little attack/defense on them? :)

I don't guard my mining planets, don't see any point to it, i have like 20 other planets sitting in my queue with the same amount of mining, sometimes I think the people who grab up exotic planets, put 2 or 3 structures for resources and the rest for defense make the same amount of resources as my unassuming (massive or greater) planets without the exotic status, because I don't have to protect them haha. Just my opinion though.

I have roughly 550 minerals an hour, every 1k of minerals I get, I get like 45-50 exotic with them. I get about 8k minerals a day, so that is like 400 exotic a day. I've tried to burn them off on quests, but its a losing battle. I may just start dumping them on lowbies in my legion that don't play anymore.

Btw that math isn't exact, just kind of estimating.

how can i be mining too much when it costs me 2 billion to upgrade my planet buildings? and that was just upgrading my mining ones. I soon have to upgrade my artifact planets and research planets to +8's as well. Money is much needed at high levels. of course with the money comes the exotic matter.

A new exotic mission has been added to the existing chain. The blueprint award for it is ...very nice :)

Hey Dan,

It looks like the trading size of Exotic Matter is still different from its actual size. Trying to trade 20 space of matter fails even though the receiving ship has more than 50 space free. Appears as though a different size is being used to calculate whether or not the trade can go through.

Do you have multiple columns for size? Database normalization ftw!

Man, sending exotics are still 0.1 size? :( I thought it was fixed and set back to 0.01 as it should be

Give it another try - there was a typo in the chain requirements.

Which mission chain was that added to? I finished "Stabilize a wormhole" but I didn't notice which mission came next.

The Exotic Technology chain actually starts with "Unstoppable Forces", available at Rank 85.
