this crap keeps getting brought up and keeps getting shot down.

KJ Reed: "Planet page already lags way too much.
Not needed and will cause further problems."
Tree: "doing the boring annoying stuff gives you a slight advantage over others which is good. Rewards those who try just a little harder."
Kara Thrace: "several GL players (including myself) who keep notes on enemy occ planets to invade in the future and extract useful artifacts. People spend a lot of time searching for storage planets and inactive treasure troves, there's no need to dumb the game down so much that you can just type in what you want and voila!"
Deigobene: "Sadly, your idea would severely increase lag, especially when scanning.
At present, I believe that the only things requested on the planet page are Planet Name, Planet Size and Planet Resource.
Even with these very limited variables, scan lag can be very painful for some.
Everything else to do with the planet, such as structures and effects is requested after the Planet Name is clicked.
With even a moderate number of occupied planets, requesting all the information about every planet every time you click on the planet tab would be a lag-inducing heartache."
Darth Flag: "So, now you're suggesting it polls the server after every letter I type (accomplishing the same delays previously mentioned) or I press <enter> and things bog out for 5+ minutes while it looks at all 1200 planets in my database?
I can only imagine how slow the Planet tab would load with it having to look at ALL planets for ALL possible structures...

"
Ryoko: "How 'bout this.... You want to steal something from them, so you put in the effort to find the thing you want to steal
