Legion Mission Part Two Missions

Xathe Vortex If you succeed… Two Choices:

Choice 1: Harnessing the Vortex

Researcher: Captain, we’ve finished the analysis of the data we collected.
You: Are the findings promising?

Researcher: Possibly. But what we’ve got is it. The vortex has closed. Our sensors aren’t picking anything up.
You: Begin experimentation and see what you can develop.

Researcher: Will do.
You: Dismissed.

Task 1: Researching Vortex Warp Technology
The ability of the vortex to open and close rapidly could be used to upgrade the warp coils on our ship. Put some researchers to this development.

30 hits of 800 energy, 45,000 research points, 10 wormhole emitters, and 10 warp gate chassis

Task Reward: Warp Coil Parts
Upgrades the Dark Warp Coils by 25% for a max of 100%. When maxed, the name of the module is Dark Warp Coil II. When all 4 warp coils are maxed they unlock the Drive Combination ability. This ability combines all 4 dark warp coil IIs to form the dark warp drive. Ability costs 300 red and blue badges

Dark Warp Drive
Size: 80; Energy: 300; Hull: 1500; Passive ability: Drive Fuel efficiency. When using a Gas- based buff your ship also gains a 5% attack buff for 8 hours, this buff doubles when an additional gas is used (so using a warp fuel provides a 5% buff, then using a Xathe vortex gas provides a increase to a 10% buff using a tevrazon gas buff increases this to 20% and finally a darmos nerve gas ability increases this to a whopping 40%).

Task 2: Researching Gas Compression Technology
With the Xathe Entities we have in containment, we can potential weaponize their gaseous emissions using rapid compressions. We will need samples from other gas planets as well for testing. Take these substation transmitters and put them in orbit around purple or green gas planets.

Scan 30 purple or green gas planets and launch the substation transmitters into orbit. Costs 600 energy to use.

Task Reward: Xathe Gas Compressor
Size:25; Attack: 300; Hull: 150; Energy: 200 (Upgrades to 200% on 40% intervals.) When maxed, the Compression Ionizer ability becomes available. Costs 400E and 10 blue badges to use. Ability gives a 5% invasion bonus.

Task 3: Researching Xathe Emission Inhibition
Your researchers have determined that there is a radiation coming from the Xathe emissions. This radiation has the potential to upgrade the Xathe Inhibitors. Perform the needed upgrades.

20 hits of 1,000 energy, 20,000 research points, 10 time manipulators

Task Reward: Xathe Inhibitor II
Upgrades the Xathe Inhibitor. Costs 600 energy to use. Adds 1 artifact and 5% cloak.

If the mission is successful, all participants are awarded 5 relic badges.

Choice 2: Entering the Vortex Special Thanks to DarkMar!

You: Chart a course to enter the vortex! Hurry before it closes!
Helmsman: Yes, sir! Entering the vortex now!

You: Quite the bumpy ride in here!
Helmsman: Sure is, captain. Navigation is becoming difficult.

You: Why? What's wrong?
Helmsman: Sensors are malfunctioning. We might have issues getting out.
Tactical Officer: Large object incoming!

You: Red alert!
Tactical Officer: It's a xathe entity! It seems to not like us too much!

You: Engage! Open fire!

Task 1 - Light the Way
Traveling inside the vortex is nearly impossible, so your team try to fire Quantum Flares to set up beacons to help navigate.

20 hits of 300 energy and 10 Quantum Flares

Task reward: 10 Dark Matter

Task 2 - Defend your Fleet
Their seems to be quite a few Entities living in this vortex, and they don't like your present here. Clear a path by killing 30 Xathe Vortex Entities, 5 Xathe Vortex Mega-Entities and 3 Xathe Vortex Giga-Entities

Xathe Vortex Entities (Rank 200)
Vortex entities are attracted to other high-energy sources. Once their outer field is dispersed, their primary energy core can be captured. We have collected enough cores so there's no need to preserve any others.
Hull: 3,000
Shields: 30,000
Attack: 3,000
Defense: 5,000
Cloak: none
75% chance to drop 1 Dark matter, 25% chance to drop 3 Dark Matter

Xathe Vortex Mega-Entities (3 player elite) (Rank 400)
Vortex entities are attracted to other high-energy sources. Once their outer field is dispersed, their primary energy core can be captured. We have collected enough cores so there's no need to preserve any others.
Hull: 15,000
Shields: 150,000
Attack: 15,000
Defense: 25,000
Cloak: 5,000
Drops: 75% chance to drop 3 Dark matter, 25% chance to drop 5 Dark Matter (top 3 + the player that kills it get credit for the task 2)

Xathe Vortex Giga-Entities (10 player boss) (Rank 600)
Hull: 75,000
Shields: 750,000
Attack: 75,000
Defense: 125,000
Cloak: 10,000
Drops: 75% chance to drop 5 Dark matter, 25% chance to drop 7 Dark Matter (top 10 + the player that kills it get credit for the task 2)

Task reward: 10 Dark Matter

Task 3: Investigate the Wreck (Optional)
Scanners indicate that you are not the first ship to enter the vortex. Track down and scan 30 pieces of debris from the wreck to find anything useful. (Works like the Lithour Deepspike. Find it. Use 400 energy and 1 Dark Matter to scan it.) While scanning the entities are liable to attack.

Task Reward: Salvage Bots
Size: 30; Hull: 500; Defense; 300 (Upgrades to 200% on 25% intervals.) When maxed, Salvage bots unlock a passive ability. -5% Upkeep.

If the mission is successful, all participants are awarded 5 relic badges.

Dark matter (material)
Three Collective Theory Lab Items:

Dark Star Engine
Costs: 200 Dark Matter, 100 Dark Pyramids, 5 Dark Eluder Matrix
Size: 25; Defense: 300; Energy: 100. Limit: 4 Dark Star Engines. (Upgrades to 100% on 25% intervals) When maxed, Dark Star Engine unlocks a passive ability. -2.5% Upkeep.

Dark Star Cannon
Costs: 100 Dark Matter, 25 Dark Pyramids, and 75 Dark Void Foci
Size: 30; Attack: 400; Invasion Attack: 250. Limit: 1 per ship. (Upgrades to 200% on 40% intervals) When maxed, Dark Star Cannon unlocks an active ability. +5% PvP attack, 5% base attack, or 5% invasion attack. Costs 10 dark matter to use. Cooldown is 20 hours.

Dark Star Base
Size: 1; Artifact: 1; Defense: 200; Cloak: 300; Defense: 10%

Second option :P I like doing these so they shalt continue

30 hits of 800 energy, 45,000 research points, 10 wormhole emitters, and 10 warp gate chassis

Task Reward: Warp Coil Parts
Upgrades the Dark Warp Coils by 25% for a max of 100%. When maxed, the name of the module is Dark Warp Coil II. - this is much too weak in my opinion. instead I propose Warp coil parts, Doubles the dark warp coils stats and renames them dark warp coil II, when all 4 warp coils are maxed they unlock the Drive combination ability, Combines all 4 dark warp coil IIs to form the dark warp drive, costs 300 red and blue badges, the dark warp drive provides 300 energy and 1500 hull and offers an passive ability, Drive Fuel efficency, When using a Gas based buff your ship also gains a 5% attack buff for 8 hours, this buff doubles when an aditional gas is used (so using a warp fuel provides a 5% buff, then using a Xathe vortex gas provides a increase to a 10% buff using a terazion gas buff increases this to 20% and finaly a darmos nerve gas ability increases this to a whopping 40%)

Ability gives a 5% invasion bonus. - I like this though it would be absolutely brutal if you did task 3 on the starting mission :P

Task 3: Researching Xathe Emission Inhibition
Your researchers have determined that there is a radiation coming from the Xathe emissions. This radiation has the potential to upgrade the Xathe Inhibitors. Perform the needed upgrades.

20 hits of 1,000 energy, 20,000 research points, 10 time manipulators and 10 blue badges

Task Reward: Xathe Inhibitor II
Upgrades the Xathe Inhibitor. Costs 600 energy to use. Adds 1 artifact and 5% cloak. - Also changes the effect to Immunity +2, provides immunity to only enemy artifacts and effects making the artifact more worthwhile to use on your planets.

Well, I like this the least. The stuffs seem too ordinary, and the story... meh...
*Not that I force you to make a story or something, but based on your other stories, I believe you can make a great story out of it :)

I have to admit, these are really good legion missions and the additions peticks made are pretty good. I'm with him on the defense module too because very few people would do that one in the long run and the ability is totally worth it for the module.

The vortex one was the worst to try and come up with something. I liked darkmar's suggestion of my "what to do next?" feed

The Xathe Vortex :
-> if succeeds : the Vortex closed, with plenty of research materials.
-> if failed : the Vortex stays open, more Xathe Entities coming out, wreaking havoc on your planets :D
