i have to jump in again..... if , for argument's sake, only 50% of your bt is halced/amped...that leaves a pretty beefy sliced of targets...no where near what people cry as being 80-90%. I believe people in this discussion are really trying to narrow to a good analogy of what would drive a more creative and fun pvp experience...but a coin flip for halc doesn't sound like a big issue. It costs like 5-60 e usually IF i test a ship that has 3/5/5 for action count and i either dont use a trap probe or dont care if i hit one or not. If you go for obvious targets with actions, this is mute altogether.

As far as how much e you spend to kill people...that is a complete aside to availability. it SHOULD take more to kill people as we rise in rank. People have more levels and presumably more time played, more arti pulls, more ap, etc etc...so they have more hull/shields/defense. I never mind spending 500-1000 to kill someone. In fact i laugh to myself if its under 200 , which still happens!

But, that said, e cost should never be confused with lack of targets. Lack of soft meat, maybe...but to that i say, tough luck....grow stronger. I'm not the strongest ship by a far sight, but I seem to be able to collect hundreds of reds a month if i so choose...and without a copious amount of time either. This means you may want to devote more pts to energy..which i think many people have started realizing over past months...sure attack is awesome, but always ahving the e to do whatever you want is it. I can autorank fro pvp. So i don't give a damn it i have to click longer. I take even greater satisfaction when i see the disable message and claim my raid. There are people who can testify to how quickly you can amass kills if you like. With ZERO alerted ships for me to chew, i added 4k kills in a year while i was in TWH. I have since added several hundred more. So i always fail to see the validation , in real gameplay, of the argument of too many people unavailable. This is no slam, just long running experience from a first hand perspective.

I wouldn't mind a reds only board either, or same for hacks and raids also. The vast majority of my stats are single kill/raids and blue badge hacks. I like to get rewards for actions, not just a +1 to a stat.

To add to the latin discussion, in mortis veritas.

I mean, a person can use Halc trap. but while his halc trap or halc trap effect is on, he cant use Calming Amp.

Similarly, if anyone had Calming Amp effect active, they cant pop a Halc trap on

-1000. I honestly don't get why so many people seem to have a problem with halcs/calming amps. I have never had a shortage of targets to max my TM actions and don't expect to until I rank myself into the stratosphere. We're up to 7 people with over 10,000 kills now and the requirements to get on the kills leaderboard keep going up and up so many of the folks I know don't even bother to try to get there anymore. And if you're on the board, you have to constantly work to keep your place (or get ahead) cause you WILL get passed. Why is it that this topic comes up over and over when it seems so pointless to me? I don't care that some people want a break from PVP threats whether they're going to work, sleep, etc. This is supposed to be a type of strategy, spaceship-building game, not pure whack-a-mole. If you want your targets to all just fall over when you shoot at them, grab a first person shooter game. As a side note, the biggest complainers in my legion are some of the least PVP-oriented -- they seem to think that their PVP BT should be just as much a shooting gallery as their NPC BT.

Now that's an idea I can get behind. The multi-raiders/hackers have by and large conquered those leaderboards leaving the "one-badge-at-a-time" guys in the dust. I think either new boards should be created that actually only count badge hits for raids or hacks or the current ones modified to do so. It won't stop the raid vultures from picking over the dead ships they find, but at least they'll have gotten a badge for it. The current system rewards people too much for taking shortcuts -- like finding one ship with a lot of resources floating in space and zeroing it's hacks and/or raids. An effort that takes little of their time or effort and just costs a little energy (and helps some slow rankers stay slow rankers by giving zero experience).
