Seems like about 25% of posts are how's my ship build doing? Could we get a separate section for this?

Most ship strategies have tons of threads already and if anyone bothered to read or search they could do their own homework. Since the landscape is ever changing and what used to be strong is mediocre now, it's relative anyways.

IMHO these posts are clutter. Most everyone posting has the goal of being a ssb killer. It's not very hard to know by attacking people around you whether you are strong or not...same for deaths you take and by whom. If you want guidance on what mission chains to pursue and when that;s one thing. Just telling everyone your stats...meh

they are not off.topic so other than being repetitive, i don't see what the harm in them is.

the bigger issue is the fact that there aren't more folks delving into other strategies ... but i have collected some info that i am packaging up to post on the forum either later tonight or tomorrow

I respect you and you have good strategy and awesome ship. However, not sure there are more than a couple of strategies left for new players or resets. No intent on my part to bag on ssb or slow rankers, or anyone else...but seems like each of these threads is, as you say, repetitive. The only good way to play now is pretty clear. People who have played for a while can certainly make their own cases on individual basis, but the overwhelming benefits are glaring for the one main way left.

You dont get hit as much, you kill easier, with a decent legion and any kind of planet sharing, gifting, or lucky scanning, new ships will be so much stronger pound for pound than anyone already out there. Some people are so strong that this doesn't apply --but like everything in life there are always exceptions. You could be ssb, msb, lsb, whatever--if you make 300k ap an hour you are a beast.

i believe that there is still a difference between 'book learning' and how you put it into practice. some are more efficient at doing so than others, plus as new elements have come into the game (e.g. legion mission mods, battle market mods, allies requiring badges to rank up), the relative priorities shift. using a limited dataset ... i will try to look at these further ... but anyone will be able to duplicate this process for their own legion

Personally, I think they should be classified as spam and summarily deleted. Regardless of any numbers presented by those posters, the bottom line is "more APH" which will fix any perceived errors in shipbuilding.

I think creating a new category for "How's my ship" stat posts will make the forums better for both the people that want to post them or read through them and the people that don't.


Putting them in a specific place will solve the repetition issue, and I don't think juiceman was saying they were OT, just noisy for a lot of forum regulars.

I have a ship build thread, but I definitely don't count myself as an SSB, I'm going for an MSB style ship, basically installing the efficient modules, yet at the same time not going overboard with the ship bots. It'd be nice to see more MSBs and LSBs making ship logs vs. the SSBs, so newer players can see different play styles. Or even organize ship log links so newer players could see examples of different ship styles, different play styles, etc. Not just slow ranking SSBs.

problem is everyone semes to be doing "look how my ship is doing posts" these days
so rarely bother to read them anymore

putting them into a special subsection of the forum would make it more easy to just mark them all as read, and move on and simply ignore them
so that would work for me


if not, maby a few of us should start up a hour by hour update on oure ships,
just to show everyone, look I added another x Tactical Officers since my last update 2 hours ago....
to show everyone how poointless and irelevant those shiplogs realy are

As someone who watches for yellow forum names (signifying new posts), I have got to ask what kind of drugs yinz are on. The Trading Post subforum has got to be THE most annoying thing about the GLF. Oh cool, new post in the Pub, wait... Crap, Cloning Pods for 5ctp each... Thank you, but I sure as sh!t do NOT want the Strategy forum p!ss!ng me off the same way.
