 New profession idea

Hi

I had a thought for a new profession that is unlocked via a mission chain, the Bountyhunter

ability, you can lock npcs any number of times (and receive drops for each lock)

How bout the bounty hunter can only pvp people from a legion with jedi in it? but earn half the badges?

Twist:

Bounty hunter has to kill at least one npc of all common and uncommon types avail each day AND collect 5 red/yellow/blue badges. In return you get a power to unlock a 'mini' cache --worth say 1-2 hours of prod. Ability usable every 40 hrs.

How about increasing the chance of rare drops from NPC's?

Chloron do you honestly feel that 1 (on average) per Dark Carrier is so overpowered in comparison to say excevator? (and that is what I am useing as baseline power here Since it would be an unlockable profession and should atleast be as good as the best nonunlockable one. Keep in mind you still need to put in the work, it just lets you solo play alittle more effectively.

excavator=2.4 extra hours of arti production a day

1 cache= 8 hours of all production

so if you find just 3 dcns every 10 days you will not only break even in arti production but also gain an extra days worth of mining and res.

this doesnt even include the other bonuses you could gain from other npcs.

KJReed summed up the overpowered aspect well enough.

Aside from that why would you want a profession that discourages teamwork? Sharing NPCs to the legion is a team work objective and should remain as such.

where you say discurage teamwork I say incuraged hard work, Proving ones worth/value. why shouldn't someone who put in 50% of the effort get 50% of the spoils I know their are alot of "tappers" tag a base get 4-7 badages, tap a npc for the drop ect, this would encurage people who DO the work to get the rewards. If you have such an awesome ship that you can take down that 10 or 12 man npc why shouldn't you get all the plunder? why not get all the drops?

I wonder about that.... technically it doesn't say anything about taking away other ppl's reward. For all intend and purposes, you can do 9x lock damage yourself and then share it and let 9 other guys deal a tiny bit each for "top 10" place rewards, hence giving the boss a total of 18 reward output. And if there are multiple hunters in a legion, they can all 9x their own and take turns 9x those shared by non-hunters. It could actually be more work if this is what could happen.

That said.... it does have risk of being OP and could potentially cause people to become selfish regardless(why 9x if you can 10x?) so probably not that good of an idea.
