I think at a certain level, ships should be able to unlock an ability or module that lets them set an unlimited (or at least multiple) omnicron mine traps. It would make the useless module not useless.

Ya just let me add 100k OMTs on my ship and let the first person who hits me die. Pointless. And actually it is a very useful trap at lower ranks.

You can add, say, 10 omnicrons or maybe even 50 to your ship, but they won't go off at the same time, they will only go off 1 at a time, when you are hit... I was thinking perhaps a lvl 100 mission that gives a defense module called minefield controller. That allows you an extra mine trap, which can be upgraded, say, 9 times, for a max of 10 mine traps at once. Would be a good way for them to be put to good use, as bonus defense.

isn't a big deal. buffed up it would be what less than 1% of most peoples health. Compared to geminis it would be a mere scratch on the paint

Yeah, the Thetacrons are really a similar idea to yours, but also equally useless basically as soon as you can make them

Sometimes I spam krios, sometimes I just repair and sometimes I spam omicrons while repairing. Sometimes I mix it up.

beeing able to set 10, would give me something to use these on, Omicron Mine Trap (Uses Left: 8742)
but have to ask myself one question, when was the last time I actualy bothered to put one on ship...... my bedst guess is atleast 6+ months ago, or more......
when the gemini cannons go off I can easily take 30K+ dammage, compaired to that, 400 dammage from a Omicron Mine Trap is basickly nothing
once you have enougth hull Omicron Mine Trap and Thetacron mine Traps become quite useless the only traps that realy matter if you want to dammage an enemy ship are T-Plasma Gemini Cannon x3 (10% hull + shield in dammage when they set off) and Gammacron Trap (50% hull + shield in dammage when they set off) only time I bother with Thetacron mine Traps are if I'm doing Task 1: Perform Mine Yield Tests in the Foundry of War Legion mission

just need to change Omi traps to either 400 damage or 1% of their total hull+sheild which ever is higher. Problem fixed.

Problem fixed. make it 1%, minimum 400 dammage for Omicron Mine Traps and 5%, minimum 2500 dammage for Thetacron Mine Traps and I might start using them, but unless they start to do % dammage I'll just stick with my Gemini Cannons
