I think it would be simpler for Dan to simply use the planet timer rather than adding a new variable. While I think numbers could be adjusted so that PTVs could be used and not be abused, I'd like input on how many of you think they should or shouldn't work.

I've been wondering for a while but... it can be argued that the longer a planet is colonized, the more the colony should be able to accomplish on the planet. While this is in some minor way paid attention to with the 5 day for full production, I believe that an additional time based effect could be added, one that would help with the issue of mostly poor planet availability in the galaxy.

I believe that there should be a "planetary improvement" tab on each planet. Each planet would gain, say 1[all numbers obviously subject to input) planetary improvement point per week occupied (tracked separately per planet obviously, no using points from one planet on a different one). These points should be spendable on improvements such as

[5 points to increase minimum resource by 1, to max MR]
[10 points to increase mining or research production by 1(to a max of 5x)] 15x or 16x
"15 points to increase artifact production by 1(to a max of 5x)" 15x
[156 points to increase size by 1 (to max of Very Large)] Very Massive Note, while this is indeed a long time, if PTVs work for this it would need to be long enough so it couldn't be easily abused.
[20 points to add 100 passive cloak]
Perhaps even a [24 points to abandon planet] option.

This would provide some way of dealing with poor choices made early in player's game experience, as well as a way to make owning even some of the relatively poor planets profitable.

Input? Suggestions?
Is this worse or better than my planetary production badge thingy I suggested 2 years ago? (As if anyone remembers that rofl)

Alternative Point System:

Modeled somewhat after the legion point system:

Improving a resource from nothing to average: 4 points per improvement
Improving from average to extremely abundant: 6 points per improvement
Improving from extremely abundant to mega rich: 8 points per improvement
Improving from mega rich to 5x: 12 points per improvement

Improving planet size:
From Very tiny to tiny: 12 points
From tiny to small: 24 points
From small to average: 48 points
From average to large: 74 points
From large to very large: 148

These numbers need polish, keep in mind that if each week you get 1 point, that means you get 52 points a year. However I like the idea overal, You would need some caps, also remove size deal thats dan's money :P. I could see like 5 points for +1 to the lowest attribute as well. you are not inproveing whats already good you are making your planet more bearable.

That's how I would see it. It would allow to improve too* small planets for example L Icy to VL but without taking money from Dan but allowing players to get VM cheaper so they dont need to use more than 2QE's

+1 to the overall idea though needs tweaking IMO.

Caps should be 5x for production meaning you still need to uplift the usual way to get to 15x. Also cap of massive for size, meaning to get VM planets, you still need to buy GP.

+1. Yea, the max should be less than 15X. 5X sounds good.

Maybe you can only uplift a planet to say, Mega rich. even 5x mega rich still sounds like too much. At my stage in the game (lvl ~100) a 5x mega rich would be rather... good. I'm sure with toxic purifiers and whatnot high ranked players could easily uplift to 16x mega rich, but....

+1, Yes the numbers could have some tweaking and it'll be a perfect addition to galaxy legion. This will definitely make sure that every planet worse or good has a chance to become better ones, instead of constantly being purged by many players everyday. This idea has so much potential, especially for players who want to play for a really long time in the long run.

i think waiting 3 years is a little long to increase the planet size

+1

Since this concept is based on a player improving their crappy planets that they took when they were a tiny little ship in a big galaxy. I would also suggest a limitation to this along the lines of, player must have owned the planet for X amount of times, maybe a min of 3-4 months? before this could be used on it.
