weapons, defenses, scan, cloak, even experiance have artifact buffs that players can use. i suggest an energy buff that would increase the total energy of a player by 5% to 10% for 12 hours or so. the only practical purpose of this would be to use them when leveling up or during a long night, but i think it would help.

I agree this would be a good idea, maybe even increase recharge rate for a period of time?

i agree, nice idea but i think it should either be a 10% increase in energy or a decrease in the recharge rate, not both. :)

I'm all for the decrease in recharge rate ( maybe 20-30 seconds? ) as it seems like that would give a better return than a 12hour boost of 10% plus energy, although higher energy values will benefit from the 10% increase more than lower ones, the decrease in energy recharge rate would benefit a vast majority of users, and not just the newbies.

maybe something like this should cost somewhere between 4k-5k Artifact points?

now, some people will argue that a reduced recharge time isn't much of a good idea as you have modules that do that anyway, but the modules drop your overall energy somewhat to benefit from the reduced recharge rate, so this would take away the need to keep relays installed for those who want quick recharges to their energy pool.

Still though, it would be nice to have something that affects our energy in a positive manner :)

+1 Vekno for original idea :)

I don't like the idea of buffing energy since it would just increase the level disparity between high and low level players.. since naturally anything that increases energy, aka the stuff you use for ranking up, will always favour the higher levels as they will be able to attain more of them and get more out of them (especially if it was % based).

In my opinion, artifacts should be released to lower levels.. having level cut-offs.. that make levelling faster and easier so the average rank of GL can be more equal.

It would benefit everyone in the end..

weapon buffs do the same thing. they speed up leveling. the more damage you do to npcs the faster you rank. this energy buff would just allow you to have more energy when leveling, or overnight.

it really wouldnt help higher levels, because they can 'perpetually level' and really this would help low levels more than high. low levels usually put a ton of rank points into engineers, and considering alot of their beginning missions take less than 5 energy, this is a pretty good deal.

For me, the 10% buff would provide me an extra 125 energy. not alot in the full spectrum of things, an extra 5-6 npc kills or 5 weekly missions. anyway, its not that big a deal, the MOST it would help a player is more scans on a scan blitz, and that would only work if they had the scanning power to pull it off...

I still say it would be a better idea to have a level cut-off to even the playing field.. so there is more accelerated growth in the early days than there is currently.

A level cut off for this sounds good, but no doubt some people will horde them and use them after the cut-off if this comes in the form of an artifact.

maybe if this is the case, a level restriction should be placed on it, so when they reach that level all they can do is scrap it for creds and not, use, share or send it.
