Hi Dan (and everyone else),

Taking a look at the top 10 on the leader board I couldn't help but notice that they almost all have the "builder" profession. I'm starting to get up in rank myself (385) and have seen my upkeep costs skyrocket.

I play a Human Explorer and, like many fellow Star Trek nerds out there, really dig the roleplaying aspect of this choice. However, I'm expecting to have to switch to a race that allows me to choose builder as my profession pretty soon or go bankrupt.

I suggest that Dan introduce a very tough to get artifact that would allow someone to pick a profession that would otherwise not be obtainable with their race.

I don't really see that this would lead to a game breaking combo but it would allow players who have an affinity for a certain race to get the profession of their choice.

My two cents.

+1 I would like to see this as well. Maybe make it a NPC boss drop or something like the Quasi-Spacial Expander is.

There is also my splicing idea.

i totally agree to this, i recently reset my account and i really wanted to be a hacker, but i also wanted the huge ass ship build of the Sillix but alas that doesnt work... so i had to compromise. i chose sillix explorer instead, at least i get a boost to my scanners.
