I have to agree as why would that be done? The advantage to shields is that they recharge without having to pay credits, why should there be two advantages to them?

I also don't understand the reason or the point behind the damage being less. It already sucks that my 11000 attack points of power don't count if I attack someone smaller than me, what difference would shields make.

I agree with Kaos, and everybody else. Shields are fine they way they are. Although, if you ask me, shields are better than hull, because whenever I attack any NPC, I do more damage to the hull than the shields. I may do 50 some damage to the shields, but then I do 80 some damage to the hull.  Either way it's fine the way it is.

Yes, Shield is very useful when it comes to NPC farming but shield sucks for PVP.. Hull is awesome when it comes to PVP fightings cuz it cannot be debuffed in any way.. Shield can be debuffed easily.. Shield is working as intended so I don't see any reason try to improve it more.. It offers pros and cons and seems well-balanced against hull pros and cons.. If increase the shield benefit then you would need to increase hull benefit as well to keep both paths balanced..

THis has nothing to do with shields, this is just the randomn variations you get in attack outcomes.

Perhaps silentknight, but I almost always do more damage in general to hull than shields.
