 More use for exotic matter.

Im almost to the point where exotic matter will stockpile on my inventory. Almost all my planets have exotic laboratory already.. I have about 4000/hr mining (something I need to keep up with my upkeep)

I was thinking of completing the set so theres +1 to mining + 1 to artifact and + 300 (or better) to cloaking at the cost of exotic matter.

or

Use exotic matter as a component for ship modules

or use of exotic matter as a consumable for better weapons. Install Weapon x, as long as weapon x has a supply of exotic matter, weapon x will have +x to attack where x is the number of exotic matter selected for fuel. (setting x = 100 or 1000) (powerful but limited use.)

I'm no where near you in terms of mineral per hour. I have almost no exotic matter with exotic labs costing 5k per lab. That along with all the missions that I have left that take a trickle of it, it all adds up. The only I have alone are over 100k exotic matter.

Exo-Rift Expansion: 100,000
Stellar Cartography: 750
Slowing the Prejor Advance: 12,000

I was actually going to suggest an infinite mission that gives exotic matter...

There is one called Stellar Cartography, but it only gives you star chart purgers. Which some of us could use sometimes but I wouldn't mind to see another one come out.

He said he wants one that gives exotic matter.

I think the Stellar Cartography mission's very useful, but it would be cool to have more options for Exotic Matter.

Correct, I would like one that gives EM.

Multiple Completable Missions
Star Chart Purger (750 EM) (via infinite Stellar Cartography Mission)
Exotic Barrier (400 EM)
Exotic Lab (5000 EM)
Exotic Turret (400 EM)

Missions:
Unstoppable Forces: 2,000
Exotic Endeavours: 1,800
Exotic Revelations: 15,000
Exotic Innovation: 75,000
Exo-Rift Expansion: 125,000
Stabilize a Wormhole: 100
Temporal Manipulation: 4,500
Mysterious World: 100
Slowing the Prejor Advance: 12,000

That's 235,500 EM just to complete all the missions, you probably have 20 planets that can use an exotic lab so add another 100k there. Right there is almost 350k in EM.

I think having more uses for it would be a great idea BUT at the same time, I think having a way to get some for people who don't produce as much as you makes sense also.

I used to think that way.. that exotic matter was too far and too unreachable.

But at you grow in rank and the more days you play the better the shipment of exotic matter that you get.


As a low ranking player don't expect that you will get a lot of exotic matter. but after rank 150 and (depending on your mineral/hour) you have finished the Exotic Laboratory chain theres not a lot of things to do with Exotic matter. currently per hour I produce about 190+ exotic matter. although Stellar cartography is a good way to use your Exotic matter. My problem with that mission is that uses 75 Energy per mission and would take 750 energy just to get 1 Star char purger. Thats a lot of energy for a single artifact and considering that I have about 300 planets that I plan to purge our of my star charts that would be a big waste of energy..

I prefer doing missions that would get me more useful items that will not be single use.. Upgrade on ship permanently, Ship component or Planetary upgrades would really be great.

And although there are a few useful applications for Exotic matter there should be more because from what I understand Exotic matter is an endgame material and should have more awesome uses.

Here are 2 missions I would suggest:

Exotic Reaction:
An allied facility developed a power core that runs on exotic matter. They have agreed to supply us with power if we send them enough resources.
Uses a lot of exotic matter and 5 energy (with 20 missions to a completion; repeatable)
Reward: Exotic Charge (artifact, gives 300 energy when used)

Exotic Spring:
We have discovered a strange gravity well that scanners describe as a planet made completely of exotic matter. Because of it's nature we cannot occupy it, but we can mine it from orbit.
Used a lot of energy (repeatable)
Reward: exotic matter

I never have enough exotic matter. I've completed the Stellar Cartography 225 times. :mrgreen:

The mission that gives out exotic matter, "Exotic Spring", gives 1000 per completion. But can only be done 50 times. I already finished it. :( It might be a good idea to make it infinite.

Why not have a more well practical use for exotic matter. Like, building special modules/planetary structures, or researching new stuff. A new addition of the techtree, could require exotic matter. Something more that adds more stuff to the game would be nice. Maybe, there is some kind of passive power that can be unlocked, but needs matinence from exotic matter. That would be pretty cool.

I also like the idea of fuel, some modules could need exotic matter to work either as fuel, or as upkeep. Some defensive engine could need exotic matter to work, or weapon, or whatever.
