Its pretty simple
Terraformers improve resources Quasi-Spacial Expanders improve size Planetary Genesis Mesh (just a placeholder name) would allow the player to change the type of planet, whilst unaltering the resources or size.
Example - You have a great barren planet (unlikely) and you want to change it to an ice or desert world so you can melt/crystalize it.
This artifact would work in tiers. I forget the exact planet types involved, but the common planets would be in one tier, the upgraded planets in another, and the rare in a third. and i believe there was a fourth tier but im not sure.
Planets would not be able to be upgraded or downgraded, i.e. an oceanic cant be turned into an ice world to prevent a 5x megacolossal planet.

I agree it is a cool concept. as for the "downgrading" it is impossible to give a planet any effect that would increase productivity when it is 15X mega rich or above, and impossible to effect it to increase its size if it is already colossal or bigger.

I think the 4th tier is mythical. It should be excluded from this because mythical is Gaia and dysons. I also like this idea. +1

This idea has merit, but I think it might work better as a barren only artifact. Right now, barren planets are worthless unless you get lucky and find one that is *decent at best. If you could change it into one of the others, there are things that the other types of planets give that you can't get with barrens.
high chance to create - Toxic, volcanic medium chance for - Icy, desert Very low chance for - Terra, other rares *I would wonder about how to do this personally.
I would say make terra the best you can create with it, as anything higher kind of makes it over-powered. I would also hazzard to guess that terra might be over-powered for it as well, as the main point is to make the barren planet something else....and have some different resource options as well.
I would make the effect depended on the planet type created. For volcanic, it would add to mining, but nothing else really. Toxic, probably a little bit to artifacts and more to mining. Icy - artifacts, desert - random And so on. But the chance should be very low to get terra planets in general.
Personally, for realism sake (yes I know its not realistic to begin with) but leave gas giants out of it.

the main reason i posted this was to change the planet type. not the resources or size because that is already covered. volcanic planets can have great mining stats, but the only thing u can do with em is add eruption channelers. if you could change it to a toxic then you could use toxic purifiers on em. Or say you got a great desert planet, but you want it more than just one size bigger. then you can change it to an ice world and melt it. the of the planet wouldnt change, just the type of planet would change.

Yeah, I see your point Vekno, but that's why I don't think that will happen either. Being able to change a Barren planet to a random thing, however, does seem possible (but probably as a limited artifact).

hmm... i guess ur right. BUT if it changes a barren to a random type of planet without changing the resources then it dosnt really seem probable to be able to sell it like a terraformer or an expander. It would have to completely change the planet type and resource to something else for this to be a valuable artifact. Otherwise i would say this is about as usefull as a Stryll Trap Probe.

I actually see a tactic of converting a planet that you know you cannot keep to barren state +1

Yeah, it could change to a random type and then its resources increase based on what type of planet it becomes. Depending on how random the planet is will decide how many of them you can get.
