Hey all,
After my ordreal with my legion mate who stole my planet and fluxed it, and refusing to give it back, I thought up this idea for an artifact. It's designed to act as a counter to Planet Flux. I have two possible ideas for how this could work.
Idea #1: The Anti-Flux reaches out and un-flux's the planet that has been fluxed. The planet is returned onto the Anti-Fluxer's planet list. Thus, the player can retake the planet.
Limitation 1: It can only work on planets that you've already controlled (and were the previous owner before losing it). It can't be used on legion planets or 5 weeks after you lost the planet.
Limitation 2: It can only be used within the first 36 hours of losing the planet. If the planet is fluxed away 36 hours after a successful invasion, this artifact will have no effect.
Limitation 3: The artifact should be worth 4,000 artifact points or so, roughly equal to the Planet Flux itself.
This means that players still can play with Planet Fluxes, but have to be more strategical about using them. They'd have to defend the planet for the first 36 hours, allowing the original player a chance of retaking the planet. There's the gamble that the player wants to flux it in hopes that the original player doesn't have the Anti-Flux, and not need to wait 36 hours for a guanatreed flux.
Idea #2: The Anti-Flux acts as a planet trap, making the planet immune to Planet Fluxing.
Limitation 1: The trap only lasts for 36 hours, and can't be stacked.
Limitation 2: Artifact has same artifact point requirement as Planet Flux.
This should allow the original planet owner a window of opporunity to retake the planet before it is fluxed away, or prevent a Dyson or Exotic from being fluxed away the instant it's conquered. The invader will have to hold onto the planet until the trap timer runs out, THEN he can flux it away.
Thoughts? Discussion?

Planet Flux doesn't effect the planet negatively like the stat de-buffs or crimson missiles do. it blocks ALL artifacts. if you put it on late enough, you WILL have close to 24h to retake the planet, AND they cant even place traps or use cloning pods to restore the population. it will be remaining at invasion ready! just have a friend(s) disable the ship(s) and you are done. enjoy!

Wow, never knew that. I always thought the deflector only blocked harmful artifacts. You learn something new everyday.

Yeah, I learned the hard way to use the vortex AFTER other artifacts... You won't even be able to build artifact structures.
